Texas urges New Yorkers to move and bring their guns

Not sure Texas is BIG enough to hold all the freedom seeking gun refugees from these socialist states.....besides, too many immigrants might dilute the dialect.

If i had to move to either Texas or ny it would be Texas for many reasons. but IMHO, some from ny would move to Texas and want to start changing things for the "better" and you know what that means........more laws. if you love the way Texas is you better not let many move there.
Reminds me of something i read a few years back in the local paper, this couple moved from Boston,Mass to my town, well the lady wanted to get voted to the town council and bring progressive ideas from Boston and get them going here....you know what that means, more laws and BS rules. she didn't get voted in.

Ya and when they all get there they will also bring their screwy ideas and before long have it just as messed up-just like what is happening in FL

Well, I live next door to TX, and pretty much anywhere in these parts ("flyover country") we're much more hospitable to supporters of RKBA. I think the ads were probably just to tweak the NY politicos. However, I think it would be the cat's meow if Remington were to up and move to Texas, and if I were in a position of influence in Texas (like the AG), I'd be working hard to entice them to move there. Remington has an ammo plant just down I-40 a bit from where I live. They should think about consolidating their operations in more RKBA states.

I say welcome but speak English and don't try to make it like your "old" State.

An influx of New Yorkers have already ruined north east PA. I realize this would be a different type of migration. But I've seen them first hand bring all their problems with them. I don't wish that on any other state.

Just remember if you move to Texas, you must adopt Texas' ways. We don't give a damn how you did it where you came from.

I agree that this is just to tweak the politicos in NYS. Very few people will move, it's too much work and people are lazy. Not for RKBA, at any rate, they won't. What gets them to move are jobs.

I remember back in the late 70s a whole bunch of Michigan folks moved down here. Generally they were hard working, mostly conservative, blue-collar types. They are still here, love it, and are very welcome despite the fact that they still talk funny.

Nathan, the job market and economy in general is not a net sum game. The more productive people that come, the better. A rising tide lifts all boats and if they come and add to the economy jobs will be created, not lost.

What we don't want or need is another influx of lazy freeloaders which is what we mostly got with the Katrina refugees.

Attention New Yorkers. Want to go to a state which is more free? Want to come, become active and help keep us free? Want to come and be productive, working members of Texas society? Is so then all I can say is 'Welcome to Texas!'

Hello?? Civil war?? How well did THAT work with carpet baggers taking over? Enjoy your visit! Just don't overstay your welcome.

"Texas is making a mistake inviting people from New York. Texas will regret it."

And you come from where? Cleveland?

What makes you such an expert about these things?

Great. Another expert Historian.

Somehow I think the people moving because of the gun situation aren't the ones you need to worry about. Or are y'all convinced everything New York is just like Nuuuuuu Yerk Citaaay?

as a lifelong Texan, i welcome the 2A supporting types,

the general liberal, unemployable carpetbagger types, learn to love your home where you are :D

If i move from this Stalin State of N.Y.to Texas, , just have some cold lone star beers waiting for me.:D..

Gosh.. I think I see what's going on here.. Texans are afraid of those "Yankees". Geez, haven't we got past this already? Seriously, if you guys think New Yorkers are so bad, then you should sell off all your Remington products, because they are made in part by New Yorkers. And, if all people from Illinois are so bad, please sell me your Rock River rifles. Oh yeah, while you are at it, get rid of all your Smith & Wessons, as those are produced in the heart of Yankee land in Massachusetts.

There is a lot of freedom loving, conservative , pro-2A New Yorkers who you insult with this "we don't want New Yorkers here". Obviously, if people are leaving their own state because of loss of 2A rights, they are not people who want to come to Texas to change your laws.

Why are so many Texans so naive to see how many liberals come from their own state? I personally think they will help counter a lot of the liberalism that is brewing in your state. And, no, it's not all coming from out-of-staters. Didn't anyone hear of the guy in Houston who said he wanted to shoot NRA members?

Funny enough, Texans just received their right to open carry. That is a right that Washington residents have had for decades.

Please, get over this whole Yankee thing, we are all Americans. There is a lot of freedom loving people in New York who are even more conservative than some people in Texas.

Last I checked, most New York members here speak English. Picking up the Texan dialect might take a little time, but I am sure there are training courses on it that can assist them with the effort. If I am correct you say y'all rather than you all? Right? :p

Ah, mostly tongue-in-cheek from me. Any gun totin' yankee can't be ALL bad!

Funny enough, Texans just received their right to open carry.

News to me. Where do I find info on THAT? A quick search didn't show anything useful but I don't have time to check further at the moment. Last I heard it was in the works.

I think you Texans may have a lot more in common with those from the upstate areas of NY than you think.
I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is a pro-gun powerhouse. He recently threatened Travis County and the City of Austin with lawsuits if they tried to ban gunshows.
Texans just received their right to open carry.
That is not true. There is no legal way to open carry in TX except in very limited circumstances. That could change in the near future--but we'll have to wait and see.

Anyone who reads this misinformation and tries to open carry will almost certainly be subject to prosecution.

Please be careful to verify things like this before posting them as fact.
