hilarious when Ted tells piers morgan "your playing the IDIOTS advocate!"

Well , only since "we" are blood brothers from Michigan. Some 25 years or so ago when I started bowhunting Ted was pretty cool . He had some good videos back then, a local archery store and was a little bit more humble.

I think there's a place in the larger public debate for a voice like Nugent's.

For me, he embodies the growing frustration I feel at the repeated lies and underhanded, emotion-based tactics of the anti-gunners, and the "disarm and retreat at any cost" types who would surrender not only our society as a whole but each and every one of us to the violent, murderous scum who would prey on us.

I like some of what he does, but overall don't really care for him. He has good intentions, but hurts us more than he helps.

He may be an OK voice for the gun community, but I don't like him personally for what he did when he was younger.

+1

I'm not a huge fan but I'm glad he speaks his mind and takes on people like Piers Morgan.

Lots of electrons slaughtered over him already here:

And probably a hundred others. Search the archives for his name, or look at any of the threads about the NRA and who our spokespeople aught to be.

You'll get a bellyfull of THR members' opinions about "the Nuge."

If found that in person, one on one, he's pretty damn mellow (compared to his stage / public persona.)

(Photo from back when my wife and I met him... I had short hair then, so maybe 2008, 2009?)

Ted Nugent does not represent me. Whether you like it or not "Perception is reality"..........and Nugent acts like a kook. He is merely a celebrity that likes to hunt. The ONLY reason the media likes to give him his fifteen minutes is for comedic value. He is a sideshow.

The average Joe Gunowner isn't the least bit interesting or newsworthy. Instead the media would rather focus on the celebrities, kooks (ala Leonard Embody's), athletes or criminals who use firearms.............and sometimes you get all in one.

I'm glad that Ted Nugent loves his guns, but don't think for a minute that he is helping gun rights.

Sorry Robert, I agree with what Ted Nugent said whole heartedly. He is upset with the anti gunners rhetoric, as we all should be. He is the voice of freedom.

Fella's;

He's absolutely un-electable if he were to waste some major money running for president. There's the whole, blown out of proportion true, Pele Massa thing for starters. Although come to think of it, that does answer the OP's question. Then there's the persistent questions of his activities as a member of the Amboy Dukes. He says he's never taken street drugs, there are other opinions.

The irony is that he'd be subjected to the intense & detailed scrutiny that the sitting president should have been.

surprised so many don't like him. I agree with everything he says and I like how he stands his ground which is for better of gun rights. being soft spoken will get you nothing but trampled over by the irrational anti gun morons.

If you ask me there are only 2 sides to gun rights. you are either for guns or against guns. Ted is for guns and so am I... its that simple

Does not represent me in the least.

His persona- false or true- of the knuckle draggin, pottymouthed neanderthal is the LAST thing we need.

No on nugent- ever. Ever ever. EVER EVER EVER.

He is the voice of freedom.

No, he's the voice of a drunk and preening adolescent who didn't get his allowance this week, and its gone on for far long enough.

When we are trying to present a front of unified reason and logical thinking, this guy is THE LAST PERSON who should be given a microphone.

Draft dodger in Vietnam War if I remember correctly

Muhammad Ali did the same thing yet he get praised by the boxing community

Im a long time rock guitar player.

I loved Ted's stuff in the 70's and always wanted to
see him in concert.

A few years back finally got to see him.

It was a complete joke, he played for awhile then ranted & raved
about his agenda and insulted half the audience with his opinionated garbage.

It was half music half crap.

Worst concert I have ever been to out of about 40.

I still want my money back.

Muhammad Ali doesn't make money appearing at various venues waving a flag as a "patriot" and "American Hero" after having dodged the draft. I don't know whether or not the 'Nuge defecated in his pants in order to dodge the draft, but he has said that he snorted crystal meth before going in for his draft interview.

The following quote says much about how Ted Nugent has allowed his agenda to take over his mouth re: the high suicide rate of America soldiers...

"And I'm sure the leftist blogs are going to attack me, misquote me, but I'll tell you why more and more warrior heroes of the military are killing themselves: Because they are in absolute frustration and heartbreak that their boss, their Commander-In-Chief violates the Constitution that he has made an oath to while their hero warrior blood brothers are being blown to smithereens and blown up while executing their oath to the same Constitution that the president, the vice president, and the attorney general violate."

....Really? Not because of combat related trauma, frustrations from being overseas for long periods of time, constant redeployments....Its all Obama's fault..

(Those "blood brothers" you wouldn't join and support by fighting alongside them in Vietnam, when it was time to do your duty, Ted?)

I'm no fan of Obama, but that's just insulting, and hurts the cause of the soldiers legitimately suffering from this issue.
