Not so. I own a CAI Centurion 39 Sporter and its predecessor, the CAI Polish 1960. Both are exceptional shooters, straight, well-made milled AK's. The centurion, with an Aimpoint 9000L riding on an Ultimak rail, put 10 rounds into 2" at 100yards on my last range outing using 123 grain Golden Bear Soft-Points. 100% American made.Americans will not make the AK as well as the old standard commie countries. American industry will find ways to cheapen the design, cut corners on materials etc. You will end up with no chrome on anything, weak springs, all polymer mags. Also I have never seen American 7.62x39 outperform russian wolf in any of my AK, sks, or sig rifles. Surplus steel mags are strong.
