I always like to check Ray's Hardware in Dallas whenever I get the itch. I've bought a few guns there before. Prices are competitive - much more so then a lot of the smaller shops in the DFW area. Generally better than Cabelas and Bass Pro too. Academy Sports & Outdoors is fairly competitive too...
Federal HST.
They really are top-notch.
Check out ATK's LE website - they have some really neat ballistics testing they did with HSTs, GDs, GS, and SXTs.
I thought I might take the "handgun of the year" award seriously but then I saw that the Taurus PT111 was also a winner.
Also they awarded two revolvers, in .460 and .500, handgun of the year. How are those guns practical to any casual gun owner? They're pretty much for handgun hunters and guides.
Interesting post DriderX.
I have to say though, those pico lites look meh. I can take it or leave it - it makes me think of the Streamlight Nano, in fact I think it's pretty much the same thing.
I too own a Streamlight Sidewinder - I got it for a very good price and I like it but I don't find...
I thought I smelled sometime funny and I realized you had a name like benzene.
Reminds me of my undergraduate O-chem labs.
Also ... I'm not sure Tauruses are famous for Kbm! I just think they stop working for one reason or another, and not all Tauruses, mind you. There are many happy...

Still, The PX4 SC is 26 oz and the XD40SC is 26 oz.
The Glock 27 is 19 oz - not to mention thinner than both.
The point I'm trying to make is not that X gun is bad - just...
I checked out the SCCY website and saw that their (one model?) handgun looked just like a P11. Now I know peoples opinion of Kel-Tecs run the gamut around here but I've generally considered the P11 to be good for the price.
So out of curiosity why is the CPX so bad?
Wow. I own a Glock 19 too and it took me half a hour to get used to the feel and grip angle. I honestly believe that the large majority of the moaning and complaining about the feel of the Glocks is in the head because honestly, the thickness of the grip is equal to a lot of different guns (XDs...
My friend bought an XDm9 back around when they first came out and were around $650-700. I was a huge XD fan back then but let me tell you nothing got me disillusioned faster about XDs than shooting one. I'm having a hard time understanding what people in this thread are talking about because my...
