What are the best Aftermarket mags for the Hi Power? Mec Gar doesn't seem to work for me.

I've never read the words

Mecgars dont work for me

ever...

I think he comes from an alternate dimension where Mec-Gar is our dimension's Promags.

Maybe it was my error that caused the malfuntion. So are the Mec Gars good?

I'm another Mecgar fan for HP mags and have never had problems with them. Much less impressed with the Argie and other milsurp mags, personally would only use them for range work due to multiple stoppages.

In fairness, their 1911 magazines suck. But everything else that they make, including their BHP magazines, are top notch. I have used MecGars in BHPs extensively (meaning many many many thousands of rounds) with nary an issue. At all. Ever.

They just work.

What exactly did the malfunction involve? Failure to feed, spring problem, not seating?
Good questions....

FN has been packing mec gars in their HP boxes for so long that you have a hard time finding a non meg gar for the HP, and if you do, it sells for a collector premium.

The 17 rounders sold as "argentine contract" mags work well but I reserve them for range use.

In personal hands on experience, Mec gars for the Sig 226, 228, Beretta 92, CZ 75 work as well or better than the older original factory magazines. The possible exception being Smith and Wesson 59XX mags. The original stainless factory mags seem to work better than the mec gar clones.
