I agree with the statements on the Kadet Kit. I have one for my SP01 and it is amazingly accurate. I was plinking bottles at 50 yrds with it, despite the crappy trigger on the SP01.
My only experience was with the 5.56 version. I found it to be very muzzle heavy before they added the heat sink barrel nut. Keep in mind this was with the carbine length Predator rail. I cannot imagine what a full length rail modern version feels like.

I prefer the longer forearms except for how they interfere with a side saddle.

If you are in Joliet, then Buffalo is not a bad place to go. You are 30+ miles closer to Buffalo than I am. I am also a member at the ASC which is a bit of a drive for me as well.
Replacing the bolt is not necessary. There was a change to the bolt that came with the flex tab conversion but it will not prevent you from using a pre-flex tab bolt on the new slide and forearm.
