    Most regretted gun purchase?

Puma PPS/50 22. It looked cool, and was fun when it worked, but it had a lot of problems in a very short timeframe. I had quite a few FTF's, and after maybe 150 rounds the drum mag bound up completely. I tried to send it in for warranty repair, which was difficult because the distributor...

    Cheek Bruising

It might be a matter of incorrect pitch. If the toe is in firm contact with your shoulder but the heel isn't, the gun will tend to rotate upward under recoil and cause cheek slap. You can play with the pitch dimension a little by putting a shim of some kind under the heel of the recoil pad.

    Shortcut for cleaning cylinders?

I wouldn't say I "need" to do it that way, but I was so impressed at how much faster I got my revolver chambers clean, I thought, why not do the same thing with any smooth bore?

    Shortcut for cleaning cylinders?

I tried the brush in a drill method, and I think I've found my solution! Clean as a whistle in nothing flat. It worked so well I may start cleaning shotgun barrels that way.

    Shortcut for cleaning cylinders?

Appreciate all the advice so far. I should probably clarify a few things: In general, I don't mind cleaning my guns. I actually enjoy cleaning a new gun for the first time because it's an excuse to take it apart and study its inner workings. After that I can't say there's much enjoyment...

    Shortcut for cleaning cylinders?

I find cleaning a revolver to be a massive PITA because I basically have to go through the barrel cleaning process seven times. Is there an effective way to get the cylinder clean other than solvent-brush-patch-repeat for every charge hole? I've thought about rigging a speed loader to hold...

Excel Accelerator in 5.7x28 and .22wmr?

I've got one in 22mag with a 17HMR conversion barrel. It seems very accurate, which I suppose is what you would expect from an 8.5 inch bull barrel, although I've never shot it for groups. It's also the only autoloader that I know of that's available in 17HMR. On the downside, it weighs 53...

    Westley Richards & Co

Westley Richards were the inventors (or at least patentees) of the boxlock action. They were most famous for their hand detachable lock, or droplock, guns. They're still in business today, and new shotguns start at around $70,000: http://www.westleyrichards.com/ Yours appears to be a 'Gold...

    New .455's from Webley?

Yet another proposal - The Webley Mark VII from Anderson Wheeler: http://www.andersonwheeler.co.uk/revolver/Mark-VII Said to be British made AND updated/improved for a .357 chambering! Something tells me this one won't make the $800-1000 price point...

    CZ99 .22lr ?

I'm tempted by the ones at Cabela's, even at their price (the shops around here charge a lot for transfers, so the advantage of buying one from J&G isn't as big as it should be). I need another 22LR like a moose needs a hat rack, but we all know how that is. The quality of machining and...

Beretta 22 conversion kit for the 92

I've got one. The reliability is average, the accuracy is good, and the fun factor is high. It's pretty expensive, all things considered, and what with 22lr being unavailable it's pretty hard to justify right now on a cost-to-shoot basis. $400 will buy a lot of 9mm.

Full sized semi auto 22 rifles

The Weatherby Mark XXII is full-sized and a very nice piece of craftsmanship too, although rather spendy. I would also recommend the Remington 550. I have the 572 pump which is pretty much the same in terms of size and shape. I'm 6'1" and they both fit me well.

Beretta Tomcat - Speak Comfort To Me

Mine's been trouble-free, but I haven't shot a huge number of rounds through it. I still like the gun and would still consider one if I were shopping for a pocket pistol today. That said, the pocket pistol market has grown a great deal and there are a lot more options than there used to be.

    Browning Gold Sporting Clays auto

Have one and love it. Dead reliable. Cycles anything, including the ultra-light 2.5" loads designed for antique doubles. The last gun I would get rid of and the first one I would replace.

Looking for an O/U for occasional clays

I'd venture to say the 101 is your best bet for what you describe. I've got a friend who shoots between 2 and 6 rounds of trap a week with his (when the weather permits and he's not out of town). That probably works out to around 100-150 boxes per year and I've never known him to have a problem...
