I just picked up a new Marlin 336 in 30-30 the other day and I'm looking to mount a scope on it. My question is, what height mounts do you guys who have 336's with scopes on them use? And do you take off the rear iron sight to get more clearance? I was looking at this scope...

I would if I didn't have any other firearm and that's all I could afford in a pinch. But that doesn't mean I would enjoy it. Lol.

I have a del-ton kit on a DPMS lower. I haven't had a single problem with it. Love it. All I used to put it together was a pair of vice grips, a punch set and the special wrench for the stock. I would not hesitate to buy from Del-Ton again.

Funny that you bring that up! A buddy and I were just shooting some balloons the other day at the range. It was interesting. I've never shot anything that moved like that in the wind before and it put a new twist on shooting for me.
