Note that there is a warning on the Mini, it is designed for 4 year olds and up...it doesn't come in subtle colors or designs.

The ones designed to fit in the carry-on storage units are the Pro and the Flyer...their wheels are recessed into the chassis

You are correct - the mini does have some "interesting" colors. Out of all of them - this one isn't too bad:

The cheapest I can find the pro is $225 or so, without all the inside stuff. That's too damn expensive - even though it is closer in size to the one I have.

For someone looking for a dedicated range bag designed for IPSC/IDPA
CED makes a nice backpack style range bag and they also sell a cart to use with it.
I've look into those and the bag is really nice.

Adding the cart brings the price up to about $300 and it still doesn't offer a place to sit.

That is interesting, but you don't have to do anything or take anything out with the zuca. Plus, I have one of those small stools. They are not as comfortable as just sitting on top of the Zuca.

I like the zuca a lot, I was just disappointed that I cannot use it for what I originally bought it for.

Shipwreck, If I flew I would have the right socket and socket wrench ready in one of those zippered pouches. Off with the wheels and into the pouch with the wrench. Voila, it fits in the overhead.

Interesting idea - but I wonder if they'd even let you have that on the carry on - with the way they get about things. They may claim it is a club or something (like if ya brought a ratchet or a crescent wrench).

However - I'd have to carry it off the plane before I could put it on.

The wheels are the smoothest you've EVER seen on ANY bag. I mean - they ride SMOOTH. So, I don't know how hard it is to take them off.

But, an interesting idea...

OMG you could be right. Have we really come to the point where a socket wrench might be confiscated by TSA?

Fine looking bags for sure, I'm in if they start offering digital camo. :)

Yea, camo would be cool.

Orange is my favorite color, so that's why I went wth that - of the options available.... They used to have an orange frame for sale, but it was discontinued right before I ordered mine. But I was able to get the bag portion in orange, at least....

joined the nra i got a free bag.works great as a range bag.

Well, I went with this to solve an issue I have with not being able to stand in 1 place very long. Otherwise, I REALLY liked the range bag I had before.

I have to learn where I have everything stored at in this bag. There are many internal and side pockets. After a few months, I'll remember where everything is, though...

Not to derail this thread, but there's another stool that's handy for people who want a place to sit any time they're out and about.

About fifteen years or so ago I discovered the Walkstool. I was working as a photographer then and found this unit would fold up so compactly that I could just toss it into one of my camera bags. I bought the basic model which might have been the only one available then. A few years ago they came out with their "comfort" model so I bought one of those too in a slightly higher conformation. It's pretty much the same as the basic but it has a slightly larger mesh seat instead of canvas and all of the "comforts" are rated for more than 400 pounds.

You can google them and find them available at Amazon and often at sporting goods or outdoor stores.

I keep buying bigger and bigger range bags but they get full too fast. Then the really large ones get too heavy to lift in and out of the truck.

I checked the main site for the bag... As someone else stated the max limit is 300lbs, not 200. Just an FYI for anyone that is interested...

Those bags are every popular in roller derby, often times in a tournament there are limited places to lace-up trackside.
