Because of my back problems - Last month, I bought one of those foldable luggage carts and bungee corded my range bag to it. So, I can pull it with me. Looks crappy, but it works...

But, with my knee issues, I also cannot stand up a long time. While shooting, I sit down while I reload mags or when I need a break. I've been draggin this short, beat up, wooden stool with me for years into the indoor range.... Between guns, the range bag, and the stool, I can barely carry anything or even open the door to the place.... So, last month, I got the luggage cart. And, I can bungee cord the pistol cases to it as well.

But, I'm still dragging around that ugly ass, wooden stool to the indoor range...

Well, I bought this $160 Zuca bag to use when I fly. It has a metal cage, and the luggage handle collapses into it. It's made for someone to sit on up to 200lbs. I bought it a year ago for when I go on flights. I can sit on it while I am stuck in a line (since I can't stand in 1 place long). Only, with the wheels on it, it's too damn big to fit into the overhead compartment. It ALMOST fits - but 1 wheel on 1 side keeps it from fitting so they can close the compartment. So, I have to check it in. (I didn't know this when I bought it)

I took a flight to Florida and back in Oct, and I had to check it at the gate both times when they couldn't close the bin door. So, it's just sitting in my closet... Been hesitant to use it, since I don't want any gunpowder residue to hang me up if I ever do use it again for a trip. But, I'm stick of draggin that damn stool around. So, I just moved all my range bag stuff into it for today's range trip. I'm just going to use this now.

Mine is orange with a black metal cage, like the one in the photo. Only difference is that I have a black cover that sits on the very top - the one in this photo just has bare metal. But, this bag is pretty damn cool:

When my son was taking ice skating lessons - everyone there was using these things. They even sell them at the skate shop - but you can save like $20 + tax if you order online. They come in every color, and the metal cage comes in various colors too.

So, today... no beat up, wooden stool is coming with me ever again :)

I've been looking at one for a while and thinking how my IDPA gear would all fit inside. It is very popular among makeup artist...with all the fitted bags inside.

I didn't realize there was a 200lb limit for sitting on it. They advertise it being safe to 300lbs

If you like it for flying, they do make the Pro version designed to fit in the overhead bins

Maybe I am off about the weight...

I'll have to check the one for carry on... Hmmm

See, I don't need all those things inside. Just want the main bag.

I got mine on Ebay. Guess I needa see if they sell there on ebay with just that size bag

I just looked on ebay - there is a Zuca Mini - I measured mine compared to the mini dimensions. Just a tiny bit smaller. Those claim to be compatible on airlines. $110 for those. I may get one...

AAAAARGH!!! :fire:

It seems like I can't go ANYWHERE without running into Zücas. My three daughters figure skate on (inter)national level and Züca has been their favorite for a number of years. They clog up the hallway, they're full of stinky skates, very stinky socks and even stinkier decomposing last week's lunches someone forgot in the side pocket, they're black holes that make all the necessary gear vanish when you need it only to be found much later in one of their crevices, they absolutely positively destroy the trunk of your car/truck if you've placed them wheels down and take a corner at a moderate speed, they're capable of denting and scratching anything while being indestructible themselves, except for the expensive spare parts like illuminated LED wheels, they're addictive which means that all I hear is "daddy, can I get a different pink/diamond/whatever insert for my Züca for Christmas/birthday/whatever?" and I'm totally convinced they're an invention straight from hell.

I might borrow/steal one of them, just to see whether they're useful for hauling a case of skeet ammo through a sporting or compak course...

Hahaha...

I actually got one without blinking wheels.. Since I originally got it for airline travel, I wanted no electronics in the wheels, just so I wouldn't get hassled by security...

Anyway, sounds like you know them well. I had never seen one before until the beginning of 2015, when my son stared skating.

If it makes you feel any safer, I took my range bag with me on a flight and asked the TSA guy about that while he was giving me the Freedom Grope™. He said that the sniffers were tuned to look for plastic explosives and he'd never seen one set off by stray flecks of gunpowder.

They were invented by a lady who was looking for a solution to her daughter being stooped over by her load of school books.

The interior bags came about because of the popularity with makeup artist on movie/TV sets.

That's why they weren't sized for airline travel for many years.

I have a couple of friends who use one for business travel and they swear by the Pro Travel bags. They say it takes a bit to get used to packing in them, but once you do it makes packing and travel much easier

Check out the wheels on the all-terrain version!
That might be just the thing for rural ranges.
I like this version a lot, hadn't noticed it until you mentioned, thanks. If My 10/22TD fits inside this may be ideal to hold all that I normally take to the range.

Note that there is a warning on the Mini, it is designed for 4 year olds and up...it doesn't come in subtle colors or designs.

The ones designed to fit in the carry-on storage units are the Pro and the Flyer...their wheels are recessed into the chassis

A very innovative, functional, and versatile design! Perfect for those ranges were there's nowhere to sit some times. Thanks for sharing!

I dig both shown but...

I want a Spongebob version or maybe Dora the Explorer.

Slippin' below the radar and all that.

They sure do look like nice set-ups if a fella can get away with so little cargo space.

Me? At a public range, I look like the Beverley Hillbillies loading in. You'd think I was spending the night....

Where do I plug in my capucino press?

Todd.
