Last year, Springfield did a promotion with gun, ammo, and accessory giveaways. I managed to win two boxes of Hornady .45ACP ammo. Since then, I have noticed a lot of gun-related sweepstakes online. I am curious, has anyone here ever actually won a gun for free? Not including raffles, just where you won simply by providing your info, online or in-store.

I've won a number of them as prizes at competition, but never have I won one by chance despite many opportunities to do so.

Nope, zip, nada. Considering the long odds, that's the likely outcome. Offering a gun and asking for your mailing address or email is a cheap way to build mailing lists.

I'm a sucker for a raffle, but I never win.

A friend of mine took his teenage son to a Ducks Unlimited sporting clays shoot and banquet. In the drawing, the kid won not one but two guns: a shotgun and a .22 rifle.

Some people are lucky and some aren't.

I don't know if this counts, because it was sort of a raffle. Many years ago, I volunteered to RO at several Glock matches. The ROs got a ticket for every half day of work. I got three tickets and won a Model 26.

Hi...
I have actually won two guns in raffles over the last 40 years.
One was a Remington 870 in 12ga, which I had to sell due to a divorce.
The other is a Savage 7mm Magnum which I have had for quite a few years which has accounted for several whitetail and a coyote.

Nope.

I've only won two things in a blind drawing type of giveaway.

I won a DeWalt angle grinder at a Fastenal open-house years ago. It was a simple, write your name/number on a little paper and they drew me later that day.

At another open-house thing for a lube shop, I wrote down my guess of how many lug nuts were in the 5-gallon bucket; I guessed 888 and the next day they called to say I won because there was 885 in the bucket. I won an oil change, but it included air filter and wipers, bonus!! :D

I buy raffle tickets at my gun club all the time and the only thing I win is a wallet with less $$$ in it. My wife on the other hand is very lucky. She has won 2 guns in raffles. A shotgun (870 Express) and a pistol (I believe it was an SR22 Ruger but I can't remember).

I really need to have my wife start entering the gun giveaways.

Many years ago she won an all expenses paid trip to Bora Bora. It was a promotion for the movie Six Days, Seven Nights.

I won a few at shooting competitions and won a few in Jr. High selling sheets and sausage for FFA.

Some had to be sent to my State to an FFL and others my Grandmother had to come to school and pick them up for me....does that give away my age?

I won an Anschutz 1416 with a Leupold 2-7 rimfire scope and a Boyd rifle case at the Southern Nationals in Winsboro, Louisiana silhouette match in 2010. Unfortunately, it was a drawing and not because of my shooting. It shoots great!

Every gunshow has an NRA booth with tics for guns I never win, but I did win 2 handguns and one rifle at a sporting clays event.

I won a Garand in a Navy rifle match once. They just handed it to me. I was very surprised by the nonchalance of the affair. "You shot really well dude. Here's your new rifle".

One time. Attended a grand opening, won a CZ .22 youth model; got no kids, lol.
A Scout? Believe it or not, I know a guy who won his club's benchrest competition with a modified one of those. They fit in the standard-sized stocks.

Yep, me. :D

I won a Norinco SKS in a raffle at a gun show, a long time ago. I still have it.

It's one of the best things I've ever won in a raffle or contest (I also won a bottle of Famous Grouse once. I don't have that anymore). ;)
