Glock and barrel pitting

If you compare the dimensions of a P2000 side by side with a G19, I think you will be surprised. They are roughly the same height with a flat-base mag in. My G19 is actually taller by maybe 1/16-1/8" but I also have Heinie sights on it which are slightly taller than factory. In length, the Glock slide/frame is about 1/4" longer, measured to the back of the grip, the Glock is about 1/2" longer (both with medium backstraps in place). In width, the bottom of the P2000 slide is wider than the G19 slide but the top of the P2000 slide is skinnier than the G19 slide. The frame of the P2000 is narrower than that of the G19 measured at any comparable point. I think web-goers see the 1.37" width listed on HK's website and assume it is a fatty. That measurement refers to the ambidextrious slide release which is the widest part of the pistol. If the Glock were fully-ambidextrious like the HK, and you compare apples-to-apples for the slide releases (the extended Glock slide release is much closer to the standard HK slide release lever; the available slim slide release levers from HK are about the same profile as a standard Glock lever) then they would be similarly dimensioned at the slide release. The Glock grip is definitely bigger and thicker in the hand, but you do get two extra rounds for the bulk, so it isn't for nothing.

In the end, six on one, half dozen of the other. Feel is a subjective thing, but many of the measurements don't support that the P2000 is the bigger or bulkier of the two. I believe the HK is heavier, but I have never measured.

It is not possible to contact Glock, I live outside the US

Its not rubbish its a fact. You dont see many H&K's in competition sports, qualification results dropped once several federal agencies switched to H&K's, several gunzines reported about this explaining that H&K are new to agents but the fact is that results where worse.
If you're talking about the DA/SA HK's they are more difficult to master, like any DA/SA pistol. Sadly HK knows how to offer an excellent trigger (witness the P7, VP9, and USP match triggers), but refuses at times to actually offer one.

We can agree to disagree, but for out of the box mechanical accuracy, reliability, build quality, shootability, and features I still like my HK's particularly the VP series.

If they offer a 5" bbl slide with an RMR cut, and hand fit match barrel watch out. A VP9 Expert. Makes me happy in my gentleman areas thinking about it.

I've had the conversation with HK CS and it would be great if they had a custom shop like Sig and CZ, but like Glock they do not, and their lawyer litigators win out. So if you own a P30 with a V3 SA/DA trigger variant like me and you want HK to do a LEM trigger conversion on it like I asked for, you are up a creek without a paddle. I could send it to GreyGuns and they do a terrific job on HK triggers, their Short Reset Carry Perfection work is the best HK V3 trigger job that I have personally seen, but they are very expensive.

I know about three from two different serial ranges, G26Gen3 series AABB (two) and G19Gen4 AALU (one). I guess several dozen of them where imported from US.

and the **** got really weird. yesterday I cleaned a barrel on my personal G17C Gen3 USA. And guess what, exactly the same pitting. Two small hardly visible spots. This is just crazy. I'll try to take a pictures of it right now

here you are. G17C, Gen3 USA, serial AABT

and the G26 I wrote about earlier. both guns shoot fine and are very accurate but pitting.... something definitely went wrong at the Glock factory....

Levan, I don’t understand. You have posted these pictures on this and other forums.

Why don’t you just tell us what Glock said to you about the barrels when you sent them in.

You did send them in? right? You have a computer, so you at least sent them the photos.

What was Glock’s response?

Or are you just another troll?

I agree contact glock, I have multiple glocks never an issue at all with them ,
