Help.... my wife thinks I am nuts !!!

I had a friend that would carry up to six S&W five shot .38 Special snubies at a time.....ankles, under arm, waist... and his wife knew he was nuts and loved him anyway. On a typical work day he ONLY carried three.

A couple of 1911's, a couple of 38's snubbies, a PPQ, a naa , a .357 686, a 92F, and a kel-tec pmr 30. I use 550 paracord as suspenders to keep my pants up.

I realize it's good to be prepared but I think that's a wee bit overboard! Speaking of which, if I were you and was anywhere near a large body of water with that many guns, I would definitely add a life preserver to my concealed carry outfit!

There is definitely some truth to that. I remember the first time I ever even noticed a decocker (obviously before I got my Makarov). I was on a police range and the trainer was working with another shooter while we were still on the line; so we all were pointed downrange but not shooting. I was using my 1911, as it was one of the carry options available to me at that place and I had already "been trained" in its use in the army (I put "been trained" in quotes because the army training, on the 1911, was quite limited).

The trainer had his hand over the other guys hand as he was showing him how to use the controls. The pistol was no longer in a safe direction and the hammer dropped. Without moving, I just about jumped out of my skin. Fortunately no one noticed. Yes, I almost immediately realized that was the way it was supposed to work; but I had, until then, never seen one being used. . . . Of course, sense then I have become more familiar with hammer droping safeties.

I think it is just what people get used to. Just like the safety on the PK380. While I am sure that pulling the trigger on a live round is safe (God! I cringe to even write that) I will still put my thumb on the hammer, with my other thumb in front of the hammer, and lower it down.

I still put a thumb over the pin when I decock my Sig, even after I have long since satisfied myself that it is safe without doing so (of course it is, but I didn't trust it for a long time).

Of course I am one of those fools who learned the hard way many years ago that decocking a 1911 with just your thumb can have loud and unfortunate concequences, so I'm pretty paranoid about it now.

I'm pretty happy with my 3.5" 1911 .45acp that I occasionally carry.

Those are my carry guns I usually only am carrying a single one but I have spares in case one is ever out of commission or stolen.

I just have the one, but I'm always wearing a twenty six ounce hammer too. Unless I have a hundred pound jack hammer, but the sights are small on it so I don't wear it often.

Armored, I've never seen shame on a pair of work gloves.

Thanks Armored farmer. I have a book, "101 Ways To Use Zucchini." Now I know of 102 ways to use zucchini. And your way looks like the best way yet!

To answer the OP's question though, I have 2, my wife has 2. For each of us, which one we carry depends on how we're dressed and where we're going that day.

Nothing to be ashamed of sir. As long as it goes "bang" when it's supposed to and is accurate enough for the job at hand, you should be happy and satisfied with your choice of an EDC.

Agreed. Doesn’t matter what it is as long as it fits 3 requirements.
1. Reliable
2. Accurate
3. Powerful enough

Funny story: I once came back from chasing pigs and walked into a convenient store. I’d not taken enough water with me and I’d put in about 10miles of hiking that day. There was an officer standing by the counter. When I walked in he gave me a funny look and chuckled. I was still wearing my 7.5 Redhawk 44mag in my leather western thigh holster. We’re standing there in line and I glance over at him and he’s staring at my revolver, looks up at me and says “I don’t know what kind of situation you’re carrying for, but you brought enough gun.” Guy behind me bust out laughing and said “I was thinking the exact same thing! I hope you’re in here if Sasquatch ever tries to rob this place!”

I've had my carry permit for about eight years. I even carried my S&W 442...once. I was going to Sam's Club but really didn't believe I'd run into any bad people there, but wanted the experience. I found pocket carry was uncomfortable and I had keep pulling my pants up because of the extra weight. I now keep the 442 on my workbench in the basement. The permit is handy though during gun purchases because it doesn't require a background check.

^ you have discovered the truth about pocket carry, just because a gun fits in a pocket doesn’t make it a pocket gun.

Would prefer one of the heavier hitters, but that LCP just disappears in the pocket. It is sooooo light.

Technically I have 5 guns that have all been carried on one occasion or another, but only 2 get carried regularly. A shield whenever possible, and an lcp in hot weather when it's harder to hide the shield.

This topic has come up a couple of times with in the last month or so.

I don't have a "rotation" of guns I've never seen the need.

I own two guns that I have carried in the past and one that I carry now. I can usually dress to conceal a Glock 19. The last time I had to dress so that I couldn't conceal my normal gun was about four years ago. I put an LCP in my pocket.

Di I carry,, just one, my Dan Wesson Valor V-BOB, how many do I own, 5 I would consider available if the Valor was missing in action. But I don't trade off, I always carry what I consider my BEST OPTION.

My avatar shoots as well as my G19 sized Ruger P345. I take both shooting and try to include moving from target to target when I do. I like political campaigns because I get so many target stands when they are over. The Kahr is DAO and the Ruger DA/SA. I practice with both to keep familiar with the feel of each. My answer was one because the Kahr is with me while the Ruger is mostly bedside. Despite the size differences I shoot both accurately at self defense distances but the Ruger does slightly better out to 25 yards.

Three:
Kel-Tec P3AT with a desantis pocket holster and on-gun belt clip (this gets carried the most)
Taurus PT-111 G2 with either a belly band, paddle holster, or in a jacket pocket. Looking for a clip-draw for this one.
Bersa Thunder 380 in a belt case or jacket pocket.

I have a 9mm Shield for CCW may get a .38 or 9mm snub nose revolver.

With the exception of my 4" model 28 and my 6" model 14 all of my guns are considered ready to be used for EDC. Now one of my 2 1/2" - 3" round butt K frames generally gets the duty.

2 most of the time. Lc9s and KLCR, usually separate but sometimes carried simultaneously. Have a xd subcompact 9mm (more often) and a glock 17 (rarely) that sometimes get carried depending on the mood. I’ve tried to trim down my guns to what I actually carry and shoot. Simpler to keep up with for me.

Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact, Ruger SP101 in 327 Federal (4.2 inch barrel), Zastava M57 Tokarev (with steel core ammo...ever since that Aurora theater incident I worry about nutjobs in body armor), and a Beretta Brigadier Inox. Adding a 45 to the mix soon.
