Ouch! That hurt.

I just shot for the first time in an indoor range that allows rifles up to .300 mag. Some clowns in the next bay were firing their AR as I was trying to shoot small groups with some .22 handguns. I could hear they were kinda snickering with the difference in muzzle noise and blast.

Next time I go I'm going to keep the .300 Weatherby cased up and standing by to see if that situation repeats itself :what:

Nope

Not really

Why

Statute of limitations on shooting a gun.

Why would you think that, if you said you shot a detective I would believe you meant a Colt handgun.

So not one of you knew what a cop is yet you think I did something wrong even "committing murder", some people's kids.
Although my comment was meant to be humorous I actually did not know what a COP was. I did assume you didn't actually commit a crime. Didn't mean to offend anyone. My apologies.

5# 30" full choke 20's sing,e shot 12 ga. 3 heavy dove loads and done. Gave it to BIL and said don"t shoot it.

Does it have a brake?

That's one reason I never take Ivan, the Mosin, to the range by itself... but I usually have him.

Browning hi-power. Hold it the way i want it bites me, lower my grip and it squirms around on me.....love playing with the things tho.

I agree here, also my thumbs forward has the takedown/slide stop nick my thumb from time to time.

Though it is the slide, not the hammer that bites me. An extended beavertail would ve nice.

The grip mod probably helps with aiming while using the sideways above the line of sight, limp wristed method of shooting that felons frequently employ.
Do you know if that Jimenez was stolen? I wonder how many felons would go to the trouble of putting a Hogue handall (or equivalent) on their pistol.

Firing +P in J-Frame revolvers with hard grips that don't fit my hand well will smack the bejezus out of the base of my thumb joint. My Glock 36 feels sweet and cuddly in comparison.

Since this is in the General Forum, I submit that any bolt action milsurp gun with a steel buttplate or a 12 gauge shotgun without a recoil pad will make me want to quit shooting in about 25 rounds fired when wearing only a thin t-shirt.

I had forgotten that one. A mauser k98 with Yugo 196 gr. Reminded me as a kid playing Uncle slugging each other on the shoulder. 15 rds. and I hurt!
I think the ol 1903a3 was just as bad, but I only put 5 rds. through it.

The charges were Possession of stolen things, Resisting an Officer and Felon in possession of a firearm. Don’t think the gun was stolen because he was not charged with Illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
I did have two others today that were stolen.

Interesting. My XDs isn't unpleasant to shoot, even with +P 230-gr HSTs. OTOH, the Walther PPS .40 S&W that was my previous carry piece had quite a snappy recoil and excessive muzzle flip. Guess it's what you're used to.

30 rds on a full size silhouette from close, closer and closest. My instructor insisted you had to at least hit the image, but I think the book says on paper counts.
May have even been less than 30... And of course, you can qualify with whatever you like... .22 target pistol anyone?

Yes, it's rudimentary at best. Any handgun will do, yet this woman chose a subcompact .45 instead of a full size 1911 in .22. I'd rather shoot the xds .45 for any amount over my lcr .38. Obviously a very subjective opinion from reading the other comments!

I shot a friends XDs 45 once and was very impressed with it. I did not feel it had bad recoil at all, certainly less than my Kahr CM40.

I've got a S&W 460 that has a good thump to it, and I've shot a friend's S&W 500. I never would shoot more than a cylinder full in either one.

The rifle that hurts my shoulder, surprisingly, is a Rossi 20" 44mag. With my handloads, 240gn 1800fps, that little bastard hurts.

TC Contender in the larger calibers. Ruger Blackhawk and S&W "N" frames in the larger calibers and factory grips. One of the 50 BMG's, I don't remember which one. Another one on the same day was pretty pleasant. Browning 10 gauge shotgun.

I have four (and I love them) of the original Keltec P-40's in .40 S&W (since discontinued because of recoil). I used to get out my .44 Mag 4" full power rounds to warm up for the Keltec recoil :what: The real problem is not the recoil but the backstrap is a little squared off so you get the recoil impulse straight into your knuckle bones. I have tried several recoil mitigation strategies including bicycle inner tubes around the grip. But, alas, they have been relegated to the collection.

From my experience: any lightweight centerfire snub revolver, any centerfire magnum without a 3" or better barrel, any 1911 smaller than commander sized, any 10mm that isn't a Glock 20 (and esp. if its a 1911), and the desert eagle 50- 1 round was more than enough through that thing. Just a short list of stuff I never want to shoot again.

I bought a Ruger 464 Casull a couple of years ago. I made it through four rounds of Underwood ammo and didn't want to shoot a fifth. I sold it soon after that.
