social media and guns

I come from the days of BB's. Now we call them "forums". I dont participate in FB, Twitter, Instagram or any major modern day "social media".

However I do think of BB's or forums as a form a social media.

I dont really worry too much about what gun related things I post on the couple of forums I'm on, mainly because forums dont tend to be "on the radar" as much as major social media sites.

I'm well aware that what we post on here can be traced back to us though.

My only social media presence is on 3 different gun forums. I see quite a few of you guys on those same forums. I love to gather knowledge about my hobby so I go to sites that facilitate that. I really don't care what someone else is eating for lunch or what movie the are going to see. FB, Instagram, etc they're all brain rot and I have no use for any of them.

I don't think they would be looking for gun ownership, per se, but rather for threats, racism, etc. -- the kind of things that would be conduct violations here on this forum.
Don't bet on it.

They're going to be looking for ANY deviation from THEIR party line, be it calling for a border wall or calling Bradley Manning, Bradley Manning. All they have to do is get the SPLC to designate the NRA and GOA as "hate groups".

If you doubt that, you've never heard the name "Lois Lerner".

One has to be 21 to drink alcohol legally. Why would they care about First Amendment rights of minors who do not vote?

The only forms of social media that I do are this site and a few others like it. We all probably need to exercise less "gun proud" when posting about our ammo and component stashes and even our gun collections. And we should show a lot of restraint when posting in threads about what we would do in certain situations. You can bet that it will come back to haunt you if you were ever in one of those situations.

The FL bill that would make it illegal for a minor to post gun pics...
Have they considered that those pics might help them prevent / identify /solve ...
If it passes, I assume a minor could still post pics of knives, swords, big dogs, chainsaw, nuclear explosions

I'm laughing right now, what trash.

There are other ways to share data and photos with family members and friends. Those that want my Facebook can have it. Still, to be forced to give it out under color of law is pretty much a stretch of my tolerance. But then after 2016 you aren't going to find a lot from me, after posting a photo of teaching my daughter the art of riflery and the uproar that followed I pretty much took FB off my Christmas card list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media

Social media interactive computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks.[1] The variety of stand-alone and built-in social media services currently available introduces challenges of definition; however, there are some common features:[2]

  1. Social media are interactive Web 2.0 Internet-based applications.[2][3]
  2. User-generated content, such as text posts or comments, digital photos or videos, and data generated through all online interactions, is the lifeblood of social media.[2][3]
  3. Users create service-specific profiles for the website or app that are designed and maintained by the social media organization.[2][4]
  4. Social media facilitate the development of online social networks by connecting a user's profile with those of other individuals or groups.[2][4]

Anyone who doesn't think that this forum is not "social media" is sadly ignorant of reality.

The wholesale attacks against all non-compliant citizens who post anti-cooperative messages (such as this one) are coming.

Whatever ignorant, idiotic, evil, anti-constitution, anti-America, and anti-freedom crap you can think of, has already been contemplated by the leftists and they are now acting on it thanks to their enablers in the mainstream media and re-education systems.

Soon, it will be a federal requirement to check all social media content before issuing a national firearm purchase permit. Simply being a member of a site such as this will be instantly disqualifying.

And now ironically, I can't access Facebook via my home computer... I'm on their because my daughter is in Japan and it's the most convenient way to stay in touch with her and my grandkids since she doesn't have a cell phone account over there. I facetime with her and my grandkids frequently. I hardly ever post anything there and nothing political or regarding firearms.

But oddly enough, my account has been blocked via my home computer on both Chrome and Edge browsers. I can still access it via my phone, but not my computer, Weird.
