Has anyone tried loading the new Sierra Game Changer or Tipped Game King in a 7mm-08 yet. I would like to hear your results. Also wondering what COAL you came up with? The bullet in question is a 165 gr. With a BC of .610 at 2600 fps or above.

Another question, has anyone had luck with bullet weights in the 160’s with a factory rifle with factory barrel lengths, twist and mag length? Specifically in the 7mm-08 .

Haven't tried either but did test some 160 sgk HP's. Accuracy wasn't too bad ran 1 moa from my rem 700 sps 24" sporter barrel. Twist rate 1:91.25".

I've used mostly 140 grain in my Tikka 7-08 but have just found some good loads for the 160 speer hot cor bullet and have worked up some 175 grain Speer Grand slams in it also. I think Tikka twist is 1-9.5. The 160's group sub moa and the 175's are just outside an inch. I need to work on the loads for them some more but was impressed with 160 results.

My go to bullet for the 7-08, at least for killing stuff is the 140gn Partition. I have loaded some heavier rounds but that’s been decades ago.

So I guess I’m going to give this a try. I recently picked up a Tikka T3x Superlite in 7mm-08 and while I was at it I grabbed a long action magazine to make it so these long Game Changers will fit the mag. I still need to either modify the bolt stop or get the long action stop. With this setup I can easily reach the lands with this bullet. I’m thinking of trying Imr8208 since Hogdon shows 2725 fps with the 162 A-max which seems to be the closest bullet I can find data for.
Anyone have any advice for this project?

They don't list Benchmark though.
You might be better suited with a slower powder and your case capacity will be larger if you are seating them longer than factory.

I shoot a Ruger American in 7mm/08 and Hornady's 139 gr interbond's shoot five shots with all touching. I've never tried any heavier bullets because all the deer I've shot were down immediately after the shot!

While im on this subject let me ask if anyone has tried V160 in the 7mm/08? A buddy gave me an 8 lb jug of it and I also load 243. I've noticed loads for that but nothing for the 08

I use RL17 with bullets 139gr and heavier in the 7-08.
Heaviest I’ve worked up and hunted with is a 150, but have 160’s, 162, and 170gr bullets. I’ve actually shot a few 170 RN Sierra’s, but just enough to see what accuracy was like. It was real good.
My rifle actually likes heavier bullets better, at least with what I’ve shot. Accuracy with the faster powders never matches the slower.
A 150gr .284” bullet hitting bone just about turns our smallish deer inside out, so I’ve never tried the heavier ones.
Too many other distractions...
