I wish all those of you wanting a 44 Mag Colt the very best of luck. But, looking at how Colt has been handling manufacture of the Single Action Army lately, I would advise against wishing in one hand and making a mess in the other. The hand that fills up first is gonna smell bad.

I had a chance to buy a LNIB King Cobra like six or seven years back for $800. Still kicking myself for passing it up.
One Friday afternoon, I had a chance to buy one used in pretty doggone good condition about five years ago for … $495! (one of the clerks had just put it out, a trade-in, apparently, the owner hadn't pulled out his Blue Book on that one yet) … And I passed, for one day; of course, when I went back to the shop when it opened the next day.

Gun show this last weekend, one private seller had not one, but two King Cobras -- both marked at $2000. Sheesh.

Holy smokes. $495? That is a steal.

Could be. This is why I keep a book telling my wife what each gun in my collection (I mean accumulation) is worth. I don't want her getting taken for a ride if I kick the bucket first.

If Colt does decide to produce a new .44 and do not wish to reuse the Anaconda name, there are plenty of deadly serpents to choose from. How about Tiapan or Moccasin?

I wish they'd call it the “Feinstein” or the “Pelosi” just to piss them off.

Or given the cartridge, the “Reno” could be fun.

I guess I should really, really kick myself as some years back came across a Anaconda 5" .44 for $850. It was up in NW WA but I wasn't but had a friend
up there. By the time he got to the place to look at it it was, of course, gone.
