I would take the SAR CM9 Gen2 over any of the above guns. It's a fantastic bargain at $250-270.

S&W SD9VE .. Most underrated budget pistol bulit ... Catches alot slack ove the heavy trigger .. This one seems better than the last one
I owned ...but still not as light as some people like... But after you get some range time .. you get more comfortable with it ....
They are some great deals out there for very dependable SD options
I like my Shield. Like my M&P .22; it does what it is supposed to do. Nothing glamorous or exotic about it. Maybe a little bit boring? It is kind of blockish but not as heavy as my G2C. It is a brick. I'm still looking.
Lots of quality 9mm out there that I have gotten for steals.

Just got this used 709 slim fit $100 today as a backup hunting sidearm. Reviews show excellent track records with these and I won't care if it gets dirty or beat up. I clean meticulously after every outing anyway.
Got a Ruger SR9C with light about a month ago for 300. My main carry is a Nano with night sights and crimson Trace laser I got for 199 about 5 months ago. Came with 2 6 rnd mags and 2 8 rnd mags and alien custom holster at that price.
Zero complaints here on the "budget nines". Happy as a pig in slop.
Not my photo, but I owned a G2S very briefly... Purchased it thinking it was the G2C. I did not know the G2S even existed, and I didn't notice the name was different when I placed my order online. Anyway, I sold it soon after I picked it up from my LGS... I just don't see that much of a size difference. The difference in width is very minimal, the other dimensions are basically the same, there's only a 2oz weight difference, and it's a 7+1 vs 12+1...I have been reading a lot about the G2S which is smaller and only 20 oz. Getting great reviews. While I am set in small 9's, this gun at the price point seems like heck of a buy.
Only if you have to have FDE color. That said the Beretta APX Compact with a MSRP of $419 is insane. A quality gun like this at that price?.
These are the actual prices:Only if you have to have FDE color.
If you're OK with black, it's $399. http://www.beretta.com/en-us/apx-compact/

G2S on left - G2C on right...
I'd suggest holding both in person at your LGS before making up you mind . The differencein height is very minimal/noticable in actual photos and in person, and that can be minimized with a flat baseplate which are available for the G2C mags if it's still an issue. They're basically the same exact size gun, and they use the exact same slide. The only difference is the 0.1" thickness difference in grip (not slide) and the 2 oz difference in weight which you'd be hard pressed to notice while carrying. The guys on TaurusArmed forum actually claim the weight difference was only 1.3 oz via their scale, and the slides are interchangeable between the two. I guess they used the same slide instead of manufacturing a slimmer slide to save cost.I have never owned a Taurus, However as I mentioned, the GS is getting positive reviews especially for a Budget gun. Now looking at the difference in the pic below, I would choose the S2. There does seem to be a little difference in grip width, and the more narrow the better and the gun is more concealable. 7+1 is fine with me. the GS C is already 2 oz more and the added ammo would just increase the weight.
