Defarbed ASM or Colt?

Note the line just forward of the notches and the scroll with "PATENT" on the cylinder in picture 7:

The barrel address looks roll stamped but everything else looks hand stamped to me. I think it was a shame to ruin a perfectly good rare Colt addressed ASM to make a poorly defarbed "Unknown" Wells Fargo!
 
I'm gonna say defarbed ASM. Trapezoid cylinder stop notches, odd hourglass shaped bead front sight and serial numbers are not the right font. There's probably more but that's a start.
 
But Ephraim, now it's even more rare!

This is part of what collecting previously loved stuff is all about, not everyone keeps their childhood toys ect. secure in the blister pack to maintain future collector value.
Some folks use them and enjoy them and make them truly their own.
If they were all exactly the same looking for the next one wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
It's not the catch, it's the chase that the real thrill.
