Do you remember your first handgun? What was it, when was it & where is it today?

Not sure about the timeline in regards to my first handgun but I do have two possible contenders to choose from.

Contender No.1 would be a Webley Mk.IV I picked up at a flea market my folks took me to. Think I paid around $120 for it. Gave it to my brother for home defense as he didn't own any handguns at the time. He gave it to another one of my brothers who still has it to this day.

Contender No. 2 is an Astra Model 600, bought from a friend of a friend. Paid $100 for it, complete with a holster and a spare magazine and this was one pistol I was not sad to see go. I'm here to tell you straight blowback in a 9mm. wasn't a good idea in the 1940s and still isn't to this day!

My first first handgun was purchased in 1986. It was a Colt Mark IV, Series 80 Combat Commander in .45 and paid a whopping $375 for it, used. Where is it today? Don't know, but I do know where I WISH it was.

First handgun was a Remington 1858, Uberti maybe?, I can't remember who made it.

It sits on top of one of my gun safes, haven't shot it in years and do not even have black powder, caps, balls or wads in the house.

My first centerfire was a Ruger P89 that still sits in a relatives bedside drawer after I sold it, as far as I know.

S&W model 915 I bought it the day I got out of the Army (Feb 09 19 1996). I sold it a year or so later. I have no idea where it's at now

Christmas 1977.
Ruger Single Six.

I finally found my pic. It's a little saddle worn. It has been back to the mothership once because I was fanning for the hundredth time. That was probably 40 yrs ago.

My first handgun was a Star. I honestly don't know what model it was. It was chambered for 9mm Largo. I was about 26 or 27 when I got it. I wound up trading it to my old hunting partner for a Mossberg 20 gauge. Later on he told me someone had stolen it out of his truck.

I bought an S&W 28 BNIB in 1972. Like a fool I sold it a few years later. I have no idea where it is now. In 1976 I bought an SS Ruger Service Six which I still have, thankfully.

The first handgun I purchased for myself was a Taurus PT-145 Millenium Pro about 16 years ago. It never gave me any problems, and I liked the gun, but I traded it away for a 1911. I don’t regret it, but I do wonder where it is now.

My first handgun was a Browning Buckmark Plus, bought in the early 90s. Still have and shoot it.

Bought a P89 when I turned 21. Still have it, sitting in the safe with my fist rifle, a glennfield model 25, among other things. Plenty of other guns, long and short, have come and gone, but I don't plan to let either one of those go.

2002 bought a Glock 17C. Kept it for about 5 years and then decided I agreed with all the articles about the grip angle being bad that brick in hand feeling so sold it and bought a CZ 75B. Since then have had a bunch of different guns and funny thing is I not so long ago realized I like the newer Gen 4 and especially Gen 5 Glocks and am currently selling that 75B and gonna buy a Gen 5 G17
