I'm looking for a decent not overly priced 9mm BCG that will work with an Endomag setup that works out of the box.

A while back I put together a 9mm upper. My plan was use the Endomag setup in a standard lower. After putting together the upper I found my bcg was not compatible with the Endomag. The BCG I bought was listed as being compatible then after I bought it I noticed the description was changed to modification may be necessary to work with the Endomag.
I did some modifications and ended up with a ruined mag. You know when that little voice in your head tells you to stop but you think I got this with just a little more fine tuning and then it's all over?

Just looking for something that works without modification and actually works in the real world. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Which style EndoMag did you get and what bolt are you using?

There are two styles of of the EndoMag. One is for use with either a Colt SMG magazine or Glock magazine. The other is for the CMMG Guard Radial Delayed Blowback bolt. The Guard RDB magazines is not compatible with the Colt or Glock style blowback bolts. The EndoMag for the Colt and Glock bolts is not compatible with the CMMG Guard.

I ordered the Endomag for the Colt/Glock style bcg.

The BCG and all of the the other parts were NBS from ar15discounts.com minus the barrel. Barrel was from BCA. I guess that's what I get for trying something new. The BCG was supposed to be Colt/Glock compatible. I assembled this thing a while ago and ordered my parts quite a while before that.

I'm curious if I should order a new Endomag and a different BCG or if I should just order a Glock magazine adapter for a 5.56 lower and some Glock mags.

I'm pretty sure the Endomag fits in a PMag and converts it to 9mm use. There would be no reason for a EndoMag with Glock mags, native 9mm or Colt SMG mags, native 9mm.

I'm aware of that I bought the complete unit. The BCG I have and the Endomag go not mesh together. I was wondering if I should buy a new BCG and a new Endomag that are compatible with each other or keep my bcg and buy a magazine adapter for a Glock magazine.

I wasn't quoting you.

Been there done that....I have a PSA standard lower. My ARStoner 9mm upper BCG was not compatable with Endomag. I also ruined an Endomag. I installed a Foxtrot Mike 9mm BCG and it now runs fine.
Waterboy, what brand of BCG was your trouble??

There is actually two versions of the EndoMag magazine inserts. One is designed to work with both Colt and Glock style bolts. The other version is strictly for use with the CMMG Guard RDB system. Check their website and it will state that. The CMMG version sits slightly lower in the mag well and does not have any ejector built in.

Direct from Mean Arms website:

CMMG Guard owners: We also offer a version of the EndoMag that works with the CMMG Guard. If you have a CMMG Guard please select the CMMG option in the "EndoMag Package Selection" option above.

It was NBS it's ar15discounts.com house brand. Funny it stands for No Bull **** but it has given me plenty of it.

Like I said I'm on the fence whether or not to attempt the Endomag route again or just buy a mag well adapter and use Glock mags. I'm not a Glock person so the mags would have to be purchased as well as the adapter. I ruined my Endomag so either way I'm buying new parts to make it work.

It states on ar15discounts.com website that the EndoMag will have to be modified to work with the NBS 9mm bolt.

*Endomag 9mm inserts may require minor modification per Mean Arms break-in procedure for ideal function*

Personally, I would get Glock mags and a mag block or try a different bolt.

When I ordered the BCG the description said it was compatible. The description was changed to "May require modification" sometime after I ordered it and started to assemble my upper. It is what it is but if I would have known it required modification I would have gone in another direction to begin with.

After thinking about this a little bit more I think if I do the mag adapter and use Glock mags I'm not at the mercy of using a specialty magazine and Glock mags seem to be a dime a dozen if you go with aftermarket mags like from Magpul.

Go back and read what you wrote. You may have meant bolts but you wrote magazines.

My buddy and I have had really good luck with ETM mags. They are what PSA ships with their 9mm AR firearms.

Thanks for the advice that is good to know. I don't own any Glocks or have much experience with them. I know they have several 9mm models but are all 9mm Glock mags interchangeable? Or is there a certain model magazine to use with the dedicated 9mm lower or magazine adapter?

Texas10mm. Yes I meant that there are two versions of the EndoMag inserts. One is for Colt AND Glock bolts. The other version is for the CMMG RDB bolt only. The different versions are not interchangeable.

Faxon 9mm BCG (Glock) works well in my build. Make sure you break the Endomags in per manufacturer instructions. I had issues initially. Turns out my Strike Industries latchless charging handle was hanging up. Switched to milspec, runs like a champ.

Pretty sure the Glock adapters are meant for G17/19 mags, there are probably other models which work as well. I highly recommend the Stern Defense magwell adapter- its a little pricey, but you will know where your money went, very stoutly built. BTW, they also make them for Beretta M92 magazines, if you already have those.

The Glock adapters will work with any 9mm Glock mag that is long enough to fit in the magwell.

Talk to mean arms. They're pretty good about replacing anything that goes bad. Also they have some pretty good and detailed videos on how to fit your endomag to your Bolt. It is my understanding that it is a very common for the endomag with the built-in ejector to need fitting to work with your Bolt. If you expect it to just drop in and plug and play you're going to ruin your ejector

I just built a 9mm rig.

My recipe....
Ballistic Advantage 5.5" barrel
Aero Precision upper
Faxon BCG
Guntech 9mm buffer
Sprinco Blue buffer spring
Spike's multi cal lower

I have over 1K through mine so far with the endomags and not a single stoppage. The Faxon BCG appears to be well thought out or it's just a fluke that the parts all run together so well. I actually ordered a magwell block and colt pattern ASC mags with the intention of swapping over to those, but I had nothing but problems. I got a few more endomags in a trade, so I'm sticking with what works.

As for the breaking in procedure, working the action four or five times does it on my rig.
