Hi all, can I please get some advice on what defensive ammo runs flawlessly in your Sig P365. With ammo being so tight it's expensive to do the normal trial and error experimenting. So some recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for the cheapest by any means, just looking for what runs. My sons P365 is fairly new and it's only had a few hundred rds of round nose through it, so what I'm looking for is a brand of good defensive hollow points. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations.

Federal 124 Gr HST standard pressure, runs great, but so has everything.
This is exactly what I use in my P365s and 365XL. I use the +P in my duty pistol and full-size P-series pistols, but the standard pressure HSTs have a great track record. I have also used the Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr +P in my 365s with excellent results (that's one accurate 9mm round in a little gun), but obviously, when going to slightly higher pressure cartridges, you may experience more felt recoil.

Federal also markets a "Micro" JHP specifically designed for sub-compacts (think it's a 150-grain bullet) but I haven't tried it. Also, the SIG-branded "365" JHPs in 147 grain seem to be aimed at P-365 owners. I've shot a lot of the regular 147 grain SIG stuff in a lot of 9mm pistols, and it's as good as advertised.

Pretty much everything I've shot through two 365s and a 365XL has been flawless. A couple hundred rounds of Gold Dot 124 gr +P worked great. The Winchester "white box" generic 115 grain JHPs, the Remington green box 115 grain JHPs, Blazers, Federal Hi-Shok, Hydra-Shok, Atomic 124 gr +P, everything I have in my inventory has functioned without any hiccups in these fabulous baby SIGs.

Thanks for all the replies and information. Seems like the SIG P365 is not very picky when it comes to HP defensive ammo. Looks like my son made a wise choice for his first EDC.

+1 on SIG V-Crown, not because they are superior to others, but because I bought a bunch for a great price last year. Just ran a mag through mine this weekend, and they performed flawlessly, as usual.
SIG V-Crown in mine right now.

DITTO that as my preferred ammo is scarce. My preference is ARX ammo.

I ask the cops in my area what they carry and go with that. 99% of the time it is Speer Gold Dot of Federal HST.

it’s cheap, works fine, no muss, no fuss.

Anything I can find at the moment.

Last stuff I saw was some Hornady Critical Defense that was in the back office of my LGS, convinced them to sell me a couple boxes.

In normal times I prefer either HST or Speer Gold Dot, both 124gr. Locally I could always find 124gr or 147gr Golden Saber which also runs fine, but I prefer the 124gr loads in the P365.

mine feeds every brand I've fed it. I've fed it a lot of brands and types, and even mixed batches.
Yep, from the first range trip with mine. These 5 plus the 124 Gr standard pressure HSTs
