That's pretty cool. If your French is workable, you could try looking him up online and see if there's any info. Rue de Bale is near the quai Wilson on the lake, a posh part of town. M. Krugel may have been a banker.

I Googled the name and address and came up with a directory of faculty and students of the University of Geneva 1947-48, but couldn’t be bothered to look through it.

Here is an older thread with some form letters in various languages for sending to troop tag addresses. There is other Swiss info there as well. Guisan was a wealth of information and is missed greatly.

Charles' rifle is stamped "P 64" - meaning it was privatized in 1964. Maybe that's when he passed away?
