So was on my States gun form first time in a while and primers are going for $165.00 and $185.00 for 1K of primers at that price my $300 or $400 investment in primers is now worth near $10,000.00
Bad news I just cant do that...

Right?!
If I sold my stash I could pay off my credit cards and maybe buy a better car.
...but
nope.

Wait...just did the math.
Ok, I could pay off half my cards and maybe think about the car.
:)

My cousin in atlanta ga is telling me that they're being listed for $250+ per thousand. I don't know if they're selling for that, but I've got thousands and thousands I'd be willing to part with at that price. I stocked up 2.5 years ago.

A while back I started stashing supplys.
20/30k primers way over 50lbs powder maybe 30k in jacked bullets that's on the shelf now.
With the Rona all the ranges near by have been closed mostly. Stuck at home been reloading massive amounts. So the idea of parting with enough to buy another boat or harley is sounding good.

Look at it as the ammo manufacturers do....that stash of primers might be worth $10,000.....or.....loaded as ammo is now worth $80,000. :what:

Buy low, sell high or just talk about it.
Thats me bought low should sell but will probably just talk about it.Getting old don't shoot near as much as I did.My sons shoot very little.I've sold some to friends for what I gave. But if I would sell to others I'd sell for whatever I can get.Not selling my house for what I gave for it or my guns its no different.I bet if some of the whiners would have thought ahead and have some extra it would be a different story.I have enough if I sold all my primers and rimfire at the the higher prices on gunbroker I could buy a new truck

When the C7 Z06 came out there was a minimum $25K dealer markup. I refused to be extorted. A friend happily paid up and even more happily drove a supercar while I was unhappily green with envy and driving my old beater.

But, I kept patting myself on the back for saving my money and refusing to be extorted. It was the principle of the thing. We’d exchange barbs with me reminding him how much I saved as he’d ask what my lap times were.

After about a year, I bought it from him as he got on the list for a ZR1. He still asked what my lap times were.

So, for all those who refuse to pay up....what are your lap times?

My lap times are great so long as the track is a logging road full of stumps, mud, rocks and skinny spots where one with a superior vehicle might risk scratches of the custom paint. Best part is, if it breaks I can replace it with a cash purchase. Wish I was as awash in primers as I am in jacked up half ton trucks. I think I have "enough " but dread the day I might have to buy a new Raptor instead of a beater XLT. In the meantime, I'm shopping for more at a price I can live with.

If you have bills to pay, sell some stuff and pay it off. It might not seem like it right now, but this shortage will pass just like it did all the other times.

It would be nice to know someone was able to make lemonade out of this lemon period of time.

$300+ per 1k last time I looked at gunbroker ... might as well pay off the credit cards if you can, if that is the going price. give it a few months, might be $400 ... who knows. or stick to the reason you got them, unless it was to sell high. either way, stick to the plan.

Yeah, they are only “worth” that if someone pays that for them. One can ask for anything.

Someone on another forum posted where some desperate soul had at least agreeed to $12/ea for primers. if I could find that guy I’d sell everyone I have, today. At that point, I’d just hang out on my private island with friends, family, staff and security until things settle down...

This is all going to calm down soon and prices will go back to normal. Right? There’s no way the chart could go parabolic like Tesla or GameStop or natural gas. Right?

Me too! I’ll sell all my pistol primers (1/3 are small & 2/3 are large) for $250,000. Pass the word.

Do a search on Reddit...if there’s a primer discussion, hang on!

It could be argued or theorized that a discussion like that has already happened, just not in public. But who knows. :)
Here’s my theory...the whole notion that a bunch of low dollar investing millennials have joined together through Reddit to manipulate the market is actually a ruse contrived by one or more hedge funds to manipulate the market. Or, could it be the Hunt brothers back for another try? Actually though manipulating the primer market is even more risky cause future supply is less certain due to political risk, no?

Same! I wanted to be the 1st (1st thousand, lol) to shoot USPSA Carry Optic. But, I wanted something good! So, I bought a new CZ S2, sent to Cajun Gun Works, slide lighten, SRO cut (serial#99). So it would qualify for the class!

2020 Ronia hits, USPSA change the weight to a limit higher, and CZ came out with a Optic ready S2. I shot 2 matches with it and thats it.

So, yeah.... you pay for lap time
