A friend of mine recently picked up a WASR-10 that's never been fired. The dude he bought it from picked it up at a gun show back in the 90s and it sat in the original box until said friend got it. It still smells like cosmoline and, after inspecting it, there's no sign of fouling or carbon literally anywhere in the rifle.
Now he's telling me he's scared to shoot it!
I can see hanging onto one for the sake of having an "unfired" weapon, but does anyone else do this? I've never been in this situation but I'm just curious if you guys think my buddy is an idiot for not using his new weapon or if he's a true collector for hanging onto it.
