Absolutely! Mom and Dad gave me one (my first real gun) for my 10th birthday in 1958. I'll be 73 in a couple of weeks, and I still have that .22 "semi-auto, single-shot." And it still works swell!

Having just discovered the Savage 24's, I am now a fan (yes, I use a scope on them, however the accuracy out of an old 'cheap' rifle is VERY good).
That Remington is very stylish now! And that 10/22 is one of the better looking one's I have seen! Well done. Never realised how long the '63 barrel was.
The mechanical condition was already good. I refinished the wood. Turned out nicely on that old Model 55
