Russian steel cased .45ACP

For awhile during one of the previous shortages I could only find steel cased 45 acp. Wolf I think.

It was like 15/50 or something like that.

I thought it would be cheap fodder to load in moon clips for the Smith and Wesson governor.

The gun is no sniper rifle itself but I have no issues ringing steel at 20 yards with regular brass cased stuff in the gun, but the wolf it just sort of sprayed wherever and struggled at 15 yards. It seemed lightly loaded too. I wouldn't care about the smell but in that revolver it's not worth it.
 
A lot of the purple color you find is the sealant on the primers.
Maybe but I just don't recall the purplish hue being there 25 years ago when I got them. I have some FA (Frankfort Arsenal) 43 brass cased 45 ACP with the red hue which is sealant. Maybe one day I'll try and fire one and see what happens. I have shot 30-06 stuff going back to the early 40s and it actually worked. :)
