No one said you can't do what you want with you gun I am simply laughing at the absurdity of this thread. You admittedly know nothing about the 1911 platform yet before ever firing a round out of your new $300 1911 you took a dremel to it and polished it because the oem mag would not feel and empty case. People tried to help you and tell you not to do that. More 1911s are ruined by people who do not know how to work on them "trying to make them better". What you are describing is a classic Bubbaing of a 1911. I like @5-SHOTS can't tell if you are serious or just trolling. Either way I don't care anymore. I am out. Good luck... What is stunning to me is that you have not even shot the damn thing yet.

I love this kind of post. Most people in this thread are not downing the Tisas 1911 they are questioning what this guy wants to do to it and what he has already done to it. @tarosean is 100% correct that you know what you get when you take a $300 1911 and put $300 worth of upgrade on it. You get a $300 1911. It is not the the Tisas is no good it simply is what it is. Contrast that with a Colt 1911. You can get a Colt Classic 70 for $800 and shoot 1000 rounds out of it and sell it for $800. If you take care of it and do proper and professional upgrades to it you can get your money out. This is simply not the case when you are talking about a $300. The Tisas guns are fine. IMHO right now they are the best low $$$ option when it comes to 1911s. I just would never put money into one. I certainly would not polish is if I had 0 experience on the platform before even shooting it.

At this point in the gun malfunctions the owner has no idea if it was his expert Dremel work that is causing the malfunctions or was the pistol defective from the start. On top of that depending on the company he may have voided his warranty. LMAO
you really don’t want to know what I did with a New, never fired 1873 Winchester clone… Didn’t like the trigger! lol

I’m not joking, it’s my hobby it’s just metal. sone people buy a new car and put 22” rims on it. I polish. Next step, learning how to file metal

I also would not take a $300 gun and put $300 worth of upgrades on it, so, we're in agreement there. It's simply OP's choice. And your comment on voiding the warranty is valid.
I understand your points. Back to the loading bench for me.

lol! uses handloads also void the warranty. pretty much anything voids the warranty

If you haven't shot the TISAS 1911, how do you know it is worthy of your Dremel work?
I was looking forward to a shooting report on an out of the box TISAS 1911, but I guess that horse has left the barn.
I’ll but another, I just couldn’t help myself. Dremel away wins and is itching when I see a dull feed ramp

tonight! I’ll take the mag apart, and see what I can buff. also going to take a look at the mag release, need to lighten that by a million pounds. Trigger bow too, polish the inside.

I've never heard of anyone polishing inside a magazine. I was thinking more along the lines of spraying it out with brake cleaner & making sure it was assembled properly. Of course, like you said it is your gun you can do whatever you like.

I don’t have brake cleaner but I got alcohol, 70% and 99%

I ordered a Tisas Duty SS online, should be here end of week.
It includes a skeleton trigger, match hammer, undercut trigger guard, beveled mag well, Novak style sight, ambidextrous safety and beaver tail grip safety.
I'm anxious to see if it lives up to the hype. Price was $484 + tax.

I handled that at my local and it’s tight and slide was very slick. Trigger was good, and safety clicked NICE!

it probably only need a slight polishing and buffing!

Checking my polishing job from last night… Guest what??? It fed a empty case!!!

XOXOXOXO

Lol mark way to go. These folks on here need to relax a bit. I dremel, grind and do whatever I want to do to what I work for and buy on my own dime. I guess i haven't done anything to my firearms but replace a spring or two as I guess I find it unneeded for me. If a gun doesn't work out it goes and funny a "sig" is the only one that I was happy to see gone. Mosquitos are pests for sure.

And jezus go shoot the dang thing, I'll front you the ammo for a couple mag dumps :).

thanks Bro! this has been the most fun project for $300 I’ve had since the Plandemic!!!!

here’s the deal…. I don’t have time to shoot.. YES! I’m a full time father of 2 boys 2&4 and I bearly have 1 hour a day light week for myself. At night, I have 3 hours, but no ranges are open then…. anyway. just a few more years and I’ll have free time.

So this is what I did tonight… radials the fire pin plate thing and POLISH! it even smoother!!! and cut the spring of the mag release by 4 links.

I hear ya, life gets in the way. Even mowing the dang grass gets to be a challenge.

I too try to find a bit of time tinkering or loading to put my mind at ease and nothing better than tinkering.

I looked and those 1911s are 5 bills here or I would have one.

Just an FYI too, of all the 1911 mags Ive used over the years, the factory Colt and USGI 7 round contract mags are the only mags that worked 99.9% in all my 1911's, regardless of make.

Yep that's been my experience too, that factory Colt mags just work and continue to do so with great reliability and durability.

Sorry to hear that.

I don't know what to tell you but I have had many Colt 1911s over the years and have yet to have a bad factory mag in any of them.
