Anybody else want Smith to put out a double/single action CSX? Another way to look at it would be a higher capacity CS9. I’d also appreciate a more straightforward field strip of the pistol. Maybe even decocker only if I’m reaching for the stars! . Thoughts?

I have a CSX, despite not being a fan of SAO pistols. I bought it as kind of a novelty, as it is a micro compact that is all metal (steel and aluminum) and competes well weight-wise and capacity-wise with most of the rest of the current market offerings. If Smith ever does make it in a DA/SA configuration, I will get one and sell my SAO version in a heartbeat.

SA CSX is fine, it has other issues to resolve in a 2.0 version. Bought one right away, regretted it right away and traded it for another Springfield TRUE 1911.

I know my shooting style, and the current trigger would get me killed in a true SD scenario.
As I've stated 3 or 4 times already; male it bigger, chamber it in .45 ACP ( and fix the trigger) and I'm on board.

I bought the CSX because it is a great carry piece. Carries well in a side pocket, 100%reliable, more accurate than it needs to be, trigger is not great but it is good. I can live with the takedown proceedure it's not that bad. The alleged false reset is a tottal non issue.

I like the idea of the CSX but I tend to like the redundancy of the a long DA trigger pull and a safety so I would be all over it if if it was DA, but I'm interested enough to go to the LGS and take a look at a CSX. Do you have a pocket holster that you like with the CSX when you carry?

Yes I like the Remora pocket holsters.

DA trigger pull will probably be less objectionable than the alleged SAO trigger it has now.

So go for it S&W
And what exactly do you find problematic about the SAO it has now. It has a short takeup a crisp 5&1/2lb pull and virtually no overtravel.

The one I inspected had none of those things. Take up wasn’t crisp, break was more than 5 lbs (felt like at least 7) and was mushy. My 365 has a crisper trigger.

Maybe it’s a sample of 1, but if you’re gonna SAO, ya gotta bring the trigger for me.

I don't know how a takeup is crisp it is free travel. The pull on mine is 5&1/2 measured with my Lyman trigger gauge. I didn't notice any mush in the break and the lack of overtravel was important to my idea of trigger control. That said I like the 365 also and my brother is sold on it. To each his own.

I own HK P30's with mile long DA/SA action that I love, Sig and M&P striker fired with short stroke actions that I love and several SAO's (CSX included) with ultra minimal take-up and crisp breaks that I find fantastic! Out of all these pistols the only one I would carry without a safety is my P30SK. My current EDC is my CSX which will probably change to my Kimber Ultra Carry II or my P30SK when the weather allows me to wear cover garments and shoulder holsters.

It's been almost a year since it was announced and I've seen almost nothing on forums talking about the CSX, so IDK what the problem with them is, but clearly a compact SAO pistol isn't what the market wanted or was asking for.

Personally, I might be interested in a DA/SA, but I have no interest in a DAO semi auto pistol.

I would definitely like a CSX in double action. After handling a friends CSX, I pulled the trigger and bought one. Really like that it is all metal, has a hammer, is ambidextrous, and a decent capacity. Not sure if it will be a carry gun but found it to be a strong possibility. This is coming from a guy who also bought a Remington R51, remember those ?

S&W CSX is just a SIG P938 with a doble-stack magazine. You can get a preview of what's going to happen if S&W attempt to retrofit double action into CSX by examining the double-action 1911 examples in reference collections of various museums.

They could try and re-introduce the CS9.

The trouble with all this DA/SA talk is that every time a manufacturer is gullible enough to try, nobody lines up to buy. Just look at Springfield XD-E. It's not burning up sales records.

Even Beretta and CZ started to notice. Did you buy RAMI when it was available? No? Then you cannot ask for a double-action CSX.

Actually I bought and will probably carry a Beretta Storm Subcompact. So yeah, I’d buy a DA/SA CSX. Also, there are thousands of new shooters that might appreciate the presence of a hammer and long double action for first shot. Not every shooter wants to buy the next striker fired, plastic wonder pistol.

And as for the Springfield, it was overly big and limited in capacity. Also, I’d argue the Rami suffered from a lack of marketing support. When did you ever look through a gun mag and see an ad for a Rami?

Very true. And like it or not I never saw it in any movies. Movies sell guns by the truckload. I am glad to see S&W doing something different.
