Hi! I was yesterday testing 2 scopes in my bergara hmr 308w, different scopes with different QDrings in my picattiny Rail.

- 1 scope with warne maxima high qd 30mm in a bushnell tactical 4.5-30x50
- 1 small scope tasco 1-4.5x26 with leupold qrw2 30mm médium rings

I was shooting at 100 yards with tasco , and disassembled and assembled 3 times, and 3 times the shoot went at the same point.

And with the warne maxima I was shooting at 150 yards. And disassembled and assembled 3 times but the point changed 1 moa the 3 times.

Somebody tested with other rings ?? I thought the best option was warne but from yesterday I could seen about I was wrong!

Regards !

In QD mounts I've used:

Leupold
Steyr
Warne
Larue
ADM (Recon mounts)

All of my ARs (6) have QD mounts with levers, and two of my hunting rifles are set up with them. The hunting rifles have 2 scopes depending on the game and conditions.

All work, within about .25 MOA (worst case), most have zero issues that I can tell. For the price on a tool-ess QD mount I really like the Warnes. Most QUALITY picatinny type mounts can be detached and re-attached maintaining POA-POI, if you're consistent with mounting and torque.

There is a small learning curve to ensure you're remounting the same way every time. I push FWD and towards the fixed side (non-clamping) of the mount while closing the levers and always tighten/close the front lever first. Technique probably isn't as important as doing it the same way each time. The levers need to be adjusted properly, but not so tight as to require getting a hernia to remove them.

When mounting the scope to the rifle and rings, use the same method, make sure both rings are fully against the forward portion on their respective slots. In addition to shooting, I verify with a Leupold Zero Point boresighter (magnetic with a grid) to make sure I'm reinstalling consistently.

I have always been impressed with the LaRue mounts I have, they are not the only ones I use successfully but if I had reason to question a mount, I’d replace it with one of the LaRue mounts I have and retest.

The reason I have others though, is because their mounts are fairly expensive, most I have came off of prize tables at matches.

I normally don’t swap optics a lot but began to when I started owning and using more day/night setups vs having different rifles ready for both. If I really need to ensure a proper zero and won’t have an opportunity to confirm with a shot, I started mounting pistol lasers on the rifle somewhere like this.

They stay on the rifle, zeroed. So it’s easy to swap optics and confirm they are not changing POI/POA.

A trust, but verify, way of doing it.

Before I started just leaving one on the rifles, I made this mount that essentially did the same thing, just didn’t stay on the rifle except during the swap.

Thanks!! From now, I’ll check remount the rings the same way !

and the laser system is very easy, cheap and very well for check it and confirm.
