So is the full-cap 9mm making a comeback post AWB?

I know I bought one, first in 10 years. Anyone else pull the trigger or taking aim on getting a "wundernine" since the death of the AWB mag restriction? I just figured I better get one while I have a legal window of opportunity and I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun my new XD is and how far the 9mm loadings have come towards being almost universally considered at least "adequate" over the past decade.

I did too! a BHP.
I'm buying mags for now, mostly .40 cal though. I'm afraid the state of Hellinois will enact its own ban in the not so distant future. I wanna stock up before it happens.

I bought a CZ75. It fits my hand better than any pistol. I can't believe I waited so long to buy one. Got a good price for gun and one 10-round magazine. I ordered two high capacity Mec-Gars.

Yup. Just ordered five 31 rd. 9 mm Glock hicaps, and I don't even own a Glock 9mm at this time! Looking to get a Kel-Tec Sub 2K but I cannot decide which pistol I want-a Model 17 or a 19. Probably whichever comes along at the best price, though I previously owned a very early Gen. 1 Mod. 17 and really did like it. Two 17 rd MecGars for the PT-92 I recently bought. These will go with the other four 17 rounders I recently obtained and the one the factory is supposed to ship me. And last, at least for now, two more 12 rounders for a recently acquired S&W 6906, giving me 6 total for this pistol.

Put me in the mind frame catagory of "Get 'em while you can."

Besides, I probably need the extra lead. At my age with my eyesight and physical infirmities I may need 4 or 5 rounds just to hit what I'm shootin' at once. :what: :what: :what: My miss to hit ratio seems to be going up with each passing year.

The AWB never stopped me. As long as the magazines existed I got some.
I would personally expect "Wonder Forties" to be a bigger thing. Look at the Para-Ordnance line - a 15 round .40 S&W and an 18 round 9*19. Since even in a bad situation I am unlikely to get to round 16, the .40 S&W looks like a better choise, as each round does a bit more damage and has a better chance of hitting or nicking something important.

I've gotten 2 Glocks in the past few months a G17 and a G19 both 2nd generation and I'm now getting hi-caps and ammo for both .

I would have to say yes. 9mm is cheap to shoot and with mags being afordable again why not. I just bought a glock, never thought i would but just couldn't pass it up. I think you will see an increase not only in 9mm but in other caliber hi-caps also. just my .02 cents.

I switched over from .40 to 9mm years ago. Still like the .45 too. Capacity had nothing to do with it. Before the ban, when I was working in a gun shop, we sold more double stack 9mm pistols than anything else. The revolver was practically dead, and the 1911 was not far behind. Things certainly have changed.

The 9 will rapidly become as popular as ever again.
Funny how the .45-40-9 debate becomes moot when you get 30% more beans in the wheel.

I just bought a Beretta Vertec 92FS 9mm. 15+1 cap, straight backstrap, smooth trigger, light rail, and rich blue color. What's not to like? Now, I just need night sights and a 9lbs D spring.

Well, if you'll count a 9x17 (9 kurz ), I'm adding more 13 round mags for the CZ83's I already have.

I'm down to a single 9x19 and it's a single stack, so maybe a trade-in 5906 might interest me. Had a 5946 but couldn't get over the unnatural feel of DAO to me.

LOL. Not quite. I still prefer the .45.

But if EAA gets my 10MM Witness working right, I might start carrying it. 11+1 rounds and I won't need an extra mag.

Just bought another wondernine today... I subscribe to the school of thought where the 9 can actually hurt. :uhoh: And twice as many rounds are fun.

I bought 2 wondernines.

Only 1 is a 6/7 shooter.

Also got a CZ75B with 4 15 rounders so I guess that counts.

i spent a small fortune on preban hi cap 9mm mags for my sig before the california ban took effect in 2000. i wish i could aquire some fresh ones since the fed AWB died.

I converted my Glock 22 into 9mm to make it into a Wondernine.

I also want a double stack 1911 in 9 or 40, but haven't found one locally yet.

I recently bought a 9mm for the first time since the AWB went into effect. Had a chance to buy some slightly used 15 round stainless S&W 59 mags at a good price. They were made during the ban and marked for law inforcement or export only. Bought a dozen. Polished them and put in new Wolf +10% tension springs. Had to go out and get a new gun to use them in.

Just ordered me a Ruger KP95. First semiauto handgun other than my .22. Have been a revolver man, and I will probably continue to carry one. I just thought that it would fun to have one since the AWB had ended.

There's a gunshow next weekend and I'm on the hunt for some 15rnd MecGars for my newtome CZ75B. So far, it shoots great, but I'm not happy with only having four standard capacity magazines.

I have six mags for my BHP. Only two of them neutered.

You can never have too many magazines. :)
