I for one enjoyed the movie, some decent firearms handling and a nice selection of pieces. What rifle was Bond carrying when he shot Mr. White?

H&K UMP

Here's a real short version.

that UMP looks like mine...here's a pic of my buddy shooting it, but we added the Gemtech can, an EOTech, and i mine has the 0-1-2-FULL trigger pack. but mine's missing the accessory rail and foregrip =( he's former Navy SPECWAR.

Did anyone notice the Star Ultrastar in the opening scene.
It was in the desk drawer of the guy bond shot.
Pretty obscure for a hollywood movie since these guns havent been made for 10+ years.

Thank you! I've been racking my brain since seeing the movie. I knew the weapon was Spanish, but couldn't recall the specific company or model.

I meant the scene in which bond is sitting across from an older man in a dark office, the man opens a desk drawer, the ultrastar appears, a witty exchange of words between them, and bond shots the guy.

I thought that looked like an Ultrastar, but I wasn't sure until now....

And it made another appearance in the credit animation. Glad to see the Spanish Stars getting some scene time... :D

Good movie with a good variety of guns....needs more revolvers...maybe next time... ;)

Wow, that takes me back a bit. I still have a "Star Arms" patch hanging around. (along with an InterArms of Alexandria one). I suppose those patches might be worth something someday.

Glad I searched before I posted! :D

I was just going to add that I found 2 things interesting - Bond's "switch" to IWB as opposed to shoulder holster carry, (though since it's a re-launch of the franchise, the character isn't really changing) and increased use of the silencer. To the point where he was apparently CCWing the P99 and the silencer in the last fight in Venice.

Though I wonder if they really make an IWB holster that will both retain your pistol and stay clipped to your pants WITHOUT a belt, after an amazing chase like the one after the opening credits? :what: :D

Think about it, if you were James Bond's holster would you be brave enough to fall off the man's belt?

No. No you wouldn't. Because he's Bond. James Bond.

These guns are also in CounterStrike!

Great movie, loved it in the theaters and just as much on dvd!

But can you name all the animated guns used in the opening credits? I guess you could call it a music video;)

I seem to recall seeing:
Beretta 92
Sig 226 (or similar)
Baby Eagle
Walther PPK
Walther P99

I may have missed one or two:D

Just off the top of my head:

Walther P99 (older style)
Beretta PX4 Storm
H&K USP
Browning Hi Power MkIII
Glock 17

I guess I only really pay attention to the pistols... :uhoh:

I saw the movie recently and i really enjoy it. What surprised me was that this bond doesn't use a german car BMW or even more the famous Walther bond pistol, Bond always used a Walther, i thought i would see the Walther P99 but i think they used that in the last one.

...what? I thought Bond DID use the P99 and the bad guys used the H&K (or other guns, sometimes silenced)?

ripcurlksm - all of those guns, save the USP, have been in assorted 007 video games.

These guns are also in CounterStrike!

And almost all the guns in counterstrike have the ejection ports on the leftside. What is it with game designers. Are they all lefthanded or have severe dyslexia?

Now about Grand Royale, I am going to see the movie for the first time tonight. I will try to make a list of all the firearms shown.

cbsbyte, the designer of the weapon models for the original CS was lefthanded; In the earliest versions all the players held their weapons in their left hand, putting the ejection port in the right place...

With feedback, they added a "right handed carry" fairly early on, they just took the artwork and reversed it... as a result, all the guns were now mirror images of themselves.

Oh yeah - I'm not the first here to mention it, but I think most of us like the line in the song:

Arm yourself, because no one else here will save you....
