I say a big NO. No life is worth taking over some material goods. We have police for these situations. Are any of you honestly thinking you would shoot a human being who was walking out of your neighbor house with a TV???

We all have a duty to make sure our neighborhoods are safe, unfortunately it is not possible for the police to be everywhere, and if a neighbor is in need of help or is not there to protect their property then as a good neighbor and honest citizen yes I would and I should be allowed to do so. Crime infests those neighborhoods that do not stand up against it. Relying on the police is a poor bet.
