I understand what you are saying jakemccoy but the bottom line is good sense has to be used.
No matter how or when force could possibly be called for, you have to evaluate the situation and take what appears to be the best actions.
What I do here out of town would be quite a bit different from what I would do in a city neighborhood.
Every situation would be different.
In this case the law allows a Texan to protect a neighbor's place as his own. That doesn't mean you HAVE to respond to the fullest extent of the law, but (within limits) you can do what you need to.
Even if what you need to do is shoot the BG or just try and get a license plate number.
