Garand purchased from the DCM 25 years ago. Shoots 4" at 100 yds with GI ammo, 2" @ 100yds with good reloads. Goes bang every time the trigger is pulled, no jams no problems. Put the 2x Aimpoint on it because I no longer could see the sights clearly enough to shoot accurately. Well worth the $185.00 I paid for it.

Where did you guys get your parts kits?
And how hard are they to put together?
And ckay, where did you get yours?
I've seen some korean ones but never one with any markings on the buttstock like that!

Gun show from Parargon $89 w/ new LMR barrel. The guy who installed the barrel offered me $100 for the barrel after inspecting the parts and replacing one small part. I had taken detailed photos of all the drawing numbers and showed him just so we all knew what I had dropped off. When I picked up the finished receiver he again offered $400 for the barrel. He admits to having 400 M1's. Thing flat shoots great.

Yes, it is one of many, many qualifying organizations. If you're not military/police, you must belong to a qualifying organization in addition to meeting the other CMP requirements. The GCA is one of the most popular, because it's easy and cheap. And I actually like the quarterly magazine.

You guys are NOT helpful with regard to my disease, Compulsive Gun Buyer's Syndrome.
I NEED to get a Garand.
Question: Someone had mentioned the Garand Collector's Association. Do I have to be a resident of Missouri to join or is it okay that I'm in Florida? I just want to be able to prove to CMP that I qualify for shipment.
