Target Bolt Action w/Iron Sights

If you want an actual target rifle, you can get Redfield sights fitted for the gun, or you can put a 1913 rail and then put on a 1913 mounted adjustable target sight with a centra professional competition apature and put on a ladder front or click adjustable sight. Sinclair Intl can help you with all of this.

Although you should probably post how much you are hoping to get the rifle for, cause that route isn't going to be cheap.

CZ has several models with iron sight. Remington also have some in ADL, BDL line.

If you like single-shot, H&R has some too.

You will probably need to ask your gun shop to order them.

Remington 700ADL's (which have been discontinued) were offered with iron sights. Not sure if the SPS line which replaced it are. There are still likely some new or like new ADL's floating around though.

If you like shooting iron sights and want them on a bolt gun, just make yourself or buy a rifle made for NRA highpower shooting matches.

Almost all NRA highpower match rifles were built around existing actions. There are still a lot of accessories for M70's and M700 actions.

There are good gunsmiths who can install a barrel, put a barrel band on the front of the barrel, clip slot, drill and tap the receiver for a Redfield base, and put the action into a big beefy stock with a hand stop and rail.

I seem to recall that Savage made an out of the box target rifle. Might have come in the late 90's. All you needed were front sights, rear sights, and a sling.

Marbles makes plain open sights.

I'd get what you like and then just have a gunsmith dovetail it and slide them in.

Savage 111 series offers rifles with sights. Not sure if I'd call them "target" rifles.

Check out New England Custom Gun for some options on iron sights. They also offer peep sights and several types of front sights. They offer a nice ghost ring for CZ550 actions that isn't shown on their web site.

If you want the best accuracy, I think a globe front sight and a target peep rear are about the best you're going to do. The peep should be as close to your eye as recoil will allow. The globe front allows you to use an aperture or post insert as a given target dictates.

You could have a dovetail milled in any barrel to mount the globe or there are screw on bases available. Lyman makes a fine target rear sight (90 MJT) but I don't know if it would be usable on a wider centerfire or if the mount would stand the recoil. The Redfield sights are probably the best bet as others have said. They are on ebay most of the time.

I'd plan on spending $150 on sights as a minimum.

I've been wanting to build the same type of rifle myself. These sights are great on a .22LR but rimfires are so limited.
