Gentlemen (and Ladies)-
I'm looking at a Ruger Mk II stainless steel with a 6" tapered barrel. I haven't checked the internal condition, but the outside looks nearly new. Assuming the guts all look good, what is it worth? I can't find one just like it on GB or at Bud's.

The kicker is that the previous owner had his name engraved on the right side just above the trigger. What would you guys discount for this? Is that part of the pistol prone to any stress that would make polishing down the engraving a problem? The asking price is $175.

I guess I could just claim that's the gun's name. Or change my name. Or name my next kid that.....

Thanks for any help you're inclined to give me!

It's a reasonable price even with the engraving. IMO, the MKII is a much better pistol than the MKIII. I have a blue MKII with a six-inch tapered barrel and the drop-in Volquartsen trigger kit (extended bolt release, target hammer, target sear, target trigger w/ overtravel screw, return trigger plunger spring and polished plunger) - it is a pleasure to shoot. I'd buy it and probably try to polish out the name.

You don't see them for that price anymore around here. I prefer the Mark II over the Mark III myself. I would jump on it for that price even if Goofy's name was on it.

Went back to the shop today, checkbook in hand.

MKII was sold, Saiga-12 STILL :banghead: wasn't in, no F209A primers, no 800X, no WAA12R wads.

What a disappointing day. :(
