Depending on where you live I would say $25-$40.....Here in my neck of the woods (Middle TN) I pay $25 for the transfer and $10 for the TBI background check....There are other places that charge more but I've found good service at the little shop I use...Shop around....You will find quite a large disparity in prices.....

This is a great place to find a place willing to do a transfer...

I should ask....do you mean shipping costs or transfer fees? Shipping must be overnight for handguns which can get pretty expensive....Long guns can go ground and is a little cheaper....

Shipping rates vary greatly... Are you referring to long guns or handguns?

Shipping handguns can get expensive. FFLs can ship using USPS for about $20.
If an individual wants to ship via FedEx or UPS, it can cost around $40 - $60.

We will continue to post with random fits of information until this is 7 pages long...it's how we are... but if you want them to mean anything, please clarify:
Do you mean the cost to have your FFL recieve and transfer to you a handgun or longgun that has been shipped to him? Are you talking about actual shipping costs of either a long gun or handgun by yourself or a FFL?

Well, for a handgun and assuming you and the seller are in different states.

If the seller is a dealer he can ship to your FFL using USPS for around $20 or less easily

If the seller is not an FFL, he will spend $35-50 or even more to ship it legally

Both of course somewhat depend on distances between you and the seller.

Your FFL has to then transfer it to you and chanrges a fee to do it based on the local market and whether or not he sees transfers as taking his sales away or as a way to make money. Some charge as little as $20, others as high as $75 or more.

gunbroker.com and other sites have tools to help you find a transfer FFL near you.
