No, Ruger probably has no intention of ever doing this. However, I would love to see a USA made CZ pattern pistol. My guess is, if anyone could do it well, economically, and maybe even improved (like Tanfoglio with the reverse FPB manual safety allowing slide retraction), Ruger could do it. It's not like anyone is reproducing Rugers line of semi-autos, and they've already copied (stole?) a certain 380 design.

I think Ruger (or S&W, or whatever US manufacturer) could sell everyone they could make.

I'd buy one. In a heartbeat. Sight unseen even.

Well, Springfield did it with the re-marked Tanfolgios sold by them as the P9, or did you mean a wholly manufactured CZ clone inside the US? I doubt Ruger wants to re-do the CZ-75...but hey, if Remington can suddenly crap out a 1911 after all these years, why not give it a go! A Ruger based CZ clone would probably be about 10% larger in all directions, thought, with thier predilection for building "tank like" in service size/style pistols. :)
We'll have one of CZFs Clone Club members pick one up and do a review...

If Ruger copied another design, we would all just be beta testers, again, and we would all have to send are pistols back........We know the drill:scrutiny:

Haven't they been making parts for kimber for several years or was that smith and wesson?

I don't see any real advantage to manufacturing a CZ design in the US. As a CZ fan owning several CZ pistols I can tell you their quality is top notch and I would rank them right up there with the best the US manufacturers have to offer. Why want a clone when you can own an original? They have a proven track record for reliability, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Their customer service is excellent and they are affordable. It's true that many people aren't familiar with the CZ brand in the US but I suspect that will change soon. ;)

I know, I've been telling all my buddies how much I love my P01. Every one of them who tries it agrees, but none of them really knew much about them before that.

Patents exist to protect folk's intellectual property.

Don't file a patent, and any design is fair game.

Be nice to look stuff up before tossing allegations.

W/O a patent, how do you know it wasn't Ruger's design in the first place?

A Ruger CZ75 would be a 1/2 pound heavier, no parts would interchange, would have proprietary low-cap mags, and have a short novel to read on each side.

I have the same problem, they want to buy mine after they shoot it. CZ is one of the most copied designs in pistols for a reason. It works.
