is there anything wrong with this 1911?

Well, isn't that Special!!

Aside from the sloppy barrel bushing fit, and the cut-off spur hammer, and the too-short dust-cover frame you mean?

The slide not quite not matching the frame at the rear is pretty common on guns that have been re-barreled with fitted lugs.
From a ground-up build, the rear of the slide or frame would normally be recontured to match the frame or slide, and then the finish applied.

Was this a home-built or did some manufacture actually make it like that?

Usually that happens , when a new barrel is fitted wrong or the slide is different from the one that was fitted on the frame. If this is a used gun I would pass on it. It sounds like someones project that went wrong, it can easily be fixed by fitting a new kart match barrel, but your looking at $250-$300 cost.

If its a new gun , SA will fix it.

Is that a new gun?? If so, Springfield should make good on that by at least replacing a very poorly fitted slide.

I bought a new Springfield Loaded this past April and it had terrible frame/slide fit issues. I returned it to them and they replaced the slide with one that fits perfect. It was covered under warranty, including shipping both ways. Here are before and after pics-

Nothing wrong with a bobbed hammer, but the short dustcover, loose bushing, and dreadful beavertail fit are just unacceptable. Put it back in the blue plastic company box and let them worry about it on guarantee. Unless it has been Bubbasmithed, in which case you may be out of luck.

It's on a colt lower receiver and eveyhing else seems good. Do y'all hink it will still shoot ok? I checked it out real quick last night and didn't find out everything about it til after...

I did a ground up rebuild on a Taurus PT1911. It took hours of fitting to get it right...

Whoever did that bought a bunch of "drop in" parts, and dropped them in. Pretty poor job IMHO, I'd steer clear. No telling what might be going on inside.

Home-brewed accuracy job by a blind monkey with 8 thumbs and 2 toes.

Not with a 10' pole...

Don't shoot it unless you take the razor blade out. LOL...so what? Why did you buy it OP?

At the time, 8:30pm or so I didn't notice any of that. It's too late to shoot now. I hope I can get all that stuff fixed for under $100.

Very likely or unlikely?

If you can even find a gunsmith who will touch that mess, I think it safe to say it won't be a C-note. If this is a new gun, contact the manufacturer about a replacement. Don't they check these things?

Very Unlikely.

The Springfield slide on the Colt frame should have been the first hint. You could try to get by with a new bushing and barrel link, but would seem a better route to get a new barrel, link and bushing and have it correctly fitted...that might well correct your slide fit problem. I'm thinking about $300 before it is even safe to shoot

A genuine GI 1911 has very lose tollerances but works every time.
It isn't a matter of loose tolerances, the barrel isn't correctly fitted and neither is the bushing

Bought from individual from online ftf. I should ve checked it out thoroughly but it was 830 and he had to buy stuff at bestbuy...

I asked him if it shot ok and accurate, his answer was yes and I took his word for it. I don't care if the slide fit to frame is off. I'd be happy if it shot decent groups

I am certain I am going to end up looking like an idiot asking this, but how in the world did you know that was a Colt frame? Like, I don't see any markings or anything, and I admit my gun knowledge is such that I can't recognize frames of 1911's on sight...

I think you should have a competent gunsmith check it out before firing. It would suck to be less $600 and several fingers as well....groups be-damned.

Looks like you have a fun project there. I have bought a few of those too. It’s always rewording to get a gun that someone messed up, fixed up and running well.
Too bad it’s almost always a financial disaster. I would check the lock up and go to the range.
Good luck

See #8. :)
