Black Hole is gearing up to produce a 6 MM based on the 6.8 SPC. A straight neck down with no shoulder movement. They have put out one barrel and are in the process of sending a couple more out for testing. It is designed for bullets of 87 grain or less with a 1:10 twist. It should be a real good coyote and deer round with the right bullets.

They even have a company set up to load factory ammo for the round. It will be non-proprietary so anyone can build them.

I made up my first dummy rounds using Silver State 6.8 brass. I used a Redding Type S Bushing die and necked the cases down. Very easy to do. The bullets were loaded with a Hornady 24 caliber seating die. I used some 80 grain Remington bullets I had up on the shelf. These are loaded to 2.300 and will fit in my magazines without any problem.

They are feeding at 100% on the test rifle being tested by Ritch Johnson who owns RPG Custom up in St. George, Utah. This one is an 18" middy so the velocities are a tad lower than what the 20" guns will run. I expect a 24" tube will really crank it on. With luck I'll have some 24" specs after mine arrives.

THese targest were the first rounds from the barrel and were just some that Ritch pulled out of his hat as starting at a safe and sane level.

This is going to be a good one.

I heard about the 6x68 last week and could really get behind this one. There are a few other 6.8 SPC based variants that push 6mm pills, but this one is pretty simple (no fireforming or trimming from what I understand) and the numbers look good. I will be watching. :D

I am climbing the walls on this. I have all my parts setting at RPG ready to go as son s the barrel hits. Ritch has dreamed up a super cartridge for all of us to use.

The bad thing is they just delivered a 24" bull barrel to RPG for me to shot in F-Class and I have to wait until Friday to ship him an upper for the build!! I had hoped to get the 6X6.8 up and shot for a weekend before the 223 showed up. :what:

Those are almost the same velocity specs im getting from my 6x47 bolty so i can attest to the performance of those bullets on game lol. Id be interested in this round if i ever get around to an AR.

The interesting thing is that these loads were picked as safe started levels. I am looking forward to seeing what the 20" and 24" results will be. With the new bullets out there these smaller 6 MM's are coming into their own.
