Hi Power VS 1911

Actually you can get a 1911, in just about any weight bwtween 25 ozs, for an alloy gun or a kimber ultra, to 48+ ozs for certain wilsons or target guns, it depends on which suits you. My Govt was 36 or 38. So weight can be adjusted by selection. My EMP is 36 and it's a small gun.

Yea I know. You said they both weighed a kilo/were the same and the Browning weighs a half pound less than a kilo/Colt. nevermind

I have both.

I shoot my FEG clone better than my 1911's, so that's what I use in competition. 9mm is also cheaper to feed.

Both. ;-)

It all depends on you and what feels good. I love the 1911 and the hi-power. The 1911 with its thinner frame is easier to conceal imo. They both shoot great to me. I carry a 1911 colt commander, but would not hesitate to carry a high power.

As some have already said, go rent or borrow one from someone and see what you like. I wish you luck. But, heck, get both if you can!

Think of it as an investment. Guns and Land hardly depreciate. :)

I own one High Power and 5 1911s. My most recent purchase is a Les Baer PII 9mm. I put slim Esmeralda grips on it with a fiber optic front sight. It fits me better than the HP and is very reliable. Way more $.

I’m looking hard at either a 1911 of a Hi power.
Any ideas?

Flip a coin.

Heads you win, tails you'll be happy. They're both very fine firearms.
