Russians to produce Glocks?

I'm with Pilot. Generally (I know, I know), I'd take a Russian gun over a Turkish gun for quality. That said, anybody can make a great gun these days, depending upon the specs and method of manufacture.

What?... save maybe $100 on the price for getting a gun that's a big question mark?

I'll stick with a REAL Glock, thank you very much.

If I want a cheaper, and equally-reliable crunchen-ticker, I'll just get a Ruger P95.
Oh wait. I already have three.

Y'all have fun with your novelty Russian "Glocks" in .30 caliber.

Weapons manufacturing is one in a handful of industries where modern Russia has excelled. If quality is defined as 100% up to the task, a Russian made Steyr or Glock will be like any other. That said, most of us are will not be in a position to buy one anyway.

Dang, I was holding out for a Chinese made Glock so I could buy one at a Wal Mart price!:(

The way glock's QC has been with the new Gen 3 and 4's a Chinese glock might be more reliable then the ones there putting out these days. I see no down side to having a russian glock if they make them I would sell my USA made glock in a heatbeat if I could get a russian made one.

I did. Mentioned it above, but the fellows kept rocking and humming about the Tokarev second coming. The quoted web site gave a puff of hot air to an expected Glock concession, and here we are now. (Steyr actually signed up, but nobody cares. Ouch)

The 7.62 x 25 cal is now hard to find. I dont see it coming in a modern day production gun.

Did anybody actually read the source article? Obviously thebangswitch.com did not.
From the article:

The Russian company and the weapons producer Steyr Mannlicher signed the agreement on Tuesday at the Russian-Austrian Business Council meeting in Vienna, Rostec's vice president Vladimir Artyakov told Prime.

The Austrian side, which will give the project materials, technology and designs for recreational and military-grade weapons, is expected to include other weapons producers, like the pistol company Glock.

From the article:

Yes, what you quoted was indeed in the article. But just like TBS did, you've taken a single sentence out of context to imply that Russia will be manufacturing Glocks. Even that sentence states that the consortium is "expected" to include companies like Glock. Nowhere does it state that Glock will be involved or what their role might be if they are involved at all.

Steyr is not Glock, so what does Steyr's signed agreement with the Russian manufacturer have to do with Glock?

The Russians have signed an agreement with Steyr. As for Glock, it is "expected", according to the newspaper. The chances for a 7.62x25 revival are nil.
that was post #4. The chewing went on for another 30 some posts, until the light was seen.

I'd buy a G20/21 in 7.62x25 anyday. The Glock ergos are waaay beter than Tokarev ergos.A7.62x25 will fit into a 13 rd G21 mag.Only problem is that it rubs the frnt of the mag lightly. So this conversion should work..38 Super should also work.

" I would sell my USA made glock in a heatbeat if I could get a russian made one."

Why?
