Kabooming Glocks (and not 23s either)

I just bought a Glock, I'M NOT AFRAID!!:p

I believe in owning a variety of guns, not having a Glock in my collection just didn't feel right. I'm not huge on Glocks but I do like them and I really don't care if others choose to like the guns that I do.

As a confessed Glock hater I'll explain my own reasons for 1) not liking Glock and 2) enjoying negative press about Glock.

In the beginning, I tried to like Glock. They were new and and pretty cutting edge at the time. First problem I had was it felt like shooting a 2X4. I hated the way it felt in my hand. Second problem I had, it rattled. It just felt loose and I didn't like it. Last and main reason I don't like it is because I did not shoot well with it. Now I've tired Glock three more times over the years, nothing had changed for me and my dislike for Glock, but I don't like 1911s either and I don't feel any hate for either at this point.

Now, why I HATE Glock. Take the reasons above and add in what I call Glockitude. It seems like as Glocks got more popular I'd see more of them at the range. Unfortunately they always seems to be in the hands of a thug looking moron and his or her band of idiots. These shooters, were loud, often violate more than one of the four basic rules, couldn't hit squat, but on occasion they could it other people's targets. My all time favorite, turning the gun on it's side and shooting "gangsta" style. These are things I was not used to seeing, and maybe just a sign of the times, but they were easily identified as they all seemed to shoot Glocks. So I start to associate one with the other.

Then we come to the forums. I make the fatal error of mentioning that I shoot Sigs and I keep getting these replies, "Sigs are over priced" "You could buy two Glocks for what you paid for that Sig. O.K., whatever. But then we get the "Glock is the best firearm ever made" crapola. Still, as annoying as many Glock owners seemed to be, I could deal with it, but then it evolved into "Glocks always go Boom when you pull the trigger" and Glocks NEVER fail" crap. If I were to post as some Glockers do, I'd say that it WASN'T the Speer Ammo, Glock paid Speer a large sum of money to take the heat for them. It would be total BS, but not far fro the BS that Glocks never fail.

In the end, even my precious Sigs have failed for some and I won't deny it. Yes, Sigs are more expensive, but for me, I can pay for one gun that I shoot very well, or I can buy two that feel like a 2X4 and I don't shoot well. why would anyone in their right mind choose option 2? Still there are Glockers, and many of them who would tell me, I was getting ripped off, just get a Glock.

I know that many fine people likely soot Glocks, and that Glocks work for many fine people. I also know Glocks fail just like any other gun, so when I hear that they don't I know someone is full of dung.

For me, it's a bit like Skateboarders. they are most notice when they skate down a mall sidewalk and people are almost collided with and have to move to get out of their way. They skate wherever they damn well please and scream bloody murder when you kick them off your PRIVATE property before the fall and sue you. They have no respect for anyone else.

It's a small segment of Glock owners that make many people hate Glock.

I'm sure given more time I could write more, but it's pointless, The Glockers will deny it and nothing will change.

I have great respect for my friends who shoot Glock and they shoot it well, but they also don't claim that Glocks are the best, or that Glocks are perfect.

Glock is not for me. 1911 is not for me either, but I don't hear or read as much BS a bravado from them as I do the Glock crowed.

1. Glocks KABOOM and therefore are dangerous to shoot.

2. You should not shoot your glock so you might as well get rid of it.

3. No responsible person would sell a known defective product to another person.

4. If you truly believe in the Big KaBOOM, then your only responsible course of action is to put all your Glocks in the THR free box so others of us can use them for scientific evaluation.

My goal is to acquire 90 Glocks so that I can correctly replicate the New Haven experience.

P.S. Someone needs a better search engine if they cannot find very many results for S&W kaboom, etc. I found kabooms for 4006, 329 .44 mag using factory ammo, M&P, on and on. If you bother to even search at all you can find 1911 kabooms too, with GASP!! grip panels being blown off.

I like Glocks, 1911, S&W revolvers, Hi-Powers, XD, and Berettas. Just because I've seen pictures of revolver top straps peeled away gives me no hesitation to shoot revolvers, even the most failure prone (S&W K-frame .357). The statistical chance of any one of these failures is too small to be much worried about and 99% of all kabooms regardless of handgun is traced back to user or ammo problems, not the gun. I prefer to put my energy into taking care of my ammo and paying attention when I am shooting. Plus I mostly reload my own ammo so I know how much of which powder really is in each case and what the OAL is for each round.

The real question is Has anybody had a NERF gun go kaboom yet?

OK, fine, I give up!! :banghead:

This is the last time I will ever participate in, or read another "Glocks go Kaboom" thread. It is just a complete waste of my time, and everyone else here should seriously think of doing the same. :cuss:

Also, I never said anything of the .400 cor-bon. Why would I bother when I already have 10mm's?

You did not mention it I did, I was explaining "lower pressures and still good results" I have a 10 mm barrel for my Mdl 21 I like it also.

I like the S&W 3rd generation also:) I mentioned the 1911, it is made by many, many different weapon mfg'ers I have two barrels for my 1911's one is a 45 cal and the other is a 400 Corbon. The 400 Corbon because of its design, is better in my opinion and also lower in pressure, why I mentioned it.

Numerous pistols out there that are real nice weapons, but with small mistakes they are a problem looking to happen for sure.

Ammo has been mentioned many many times as being the culprit (cause of blow up) and you Glock haters just don't get it:confused:
;)

Whoa there MW, you're kind of a violent guy aren't you? Maybe you can let the next Glock post go so others can have a debate without fear of being absorbed by your violent hatred of something you don't seem to have a good understanding of!
