For those bashing California gun owners, they lead the nation in progun money raised

I don't really get the whole "sleep in the bed you made" thing that a lot of folks have toward California gun owners.

THEY are not the ones electing the idiots who are making the stupid rules.

In fact, they probably do more on aggregate to support the RKBA than most of the rest of us in "free states" combined, since they're actually actively struggling with a constant onslaught of new laws coming from many different directions.

We need to stand together, we're all on the same side. We should all be giving locally and nationally.

Meh, California is also the most populous state, beating out Texas by over 10 million people. Texas probably has more gun owners, but I would be willing to bet that a higher percentage of California gun owners contribute financially to gun rights groups.

Im glad that Cali gun owners are giving to gun rights groups, but all in all, it's not really impressive to say that the state with the highest population also contributes the most money to an organization.

Their cost of everything is also much higher so what's the point?

I doubt there is any hope left for CA when it comes to gun rights. Only way to win is to leave, they're just that far gone...:banghead:

CA gun owners can stew in their own juices. You say, "Don't blame us, we didn't vote for those people". No, but you support them by staying there and paying taxes. If your vote can't count at the ballot box, then vote with your feet.

And don't give me any of that "I can't leave" crap. I packed up my family and moved them to Free America.

Lots of good, logical thinking folks in California, unfortunately they are outnumbered.

Coming to your state in the future.

I left a communist state over 40 years ago...it was an easier move back then.

... And it seems to have struck a nerve with the anti crowd, hence the article title "How gun control is losing, bad (in charts)". Thanks California gun owners. I don't think your state is too far gone, but you've got a long way to come. I admit that I occasionally lurk around Calguns.net and I think you guys are really trying hard to make a bad situation better.

Since I took an aunt who lives in California shooting a couple of years ago I've come to the conclusion that there must be a very interesting gun "sub-culture" in California compared to the "at large" gun culture in most of the rest of the U.S. What was interesting was she didn't have a problem shooting the different .22s, or the Browning Hi-Power, or the Glock, or the scoped .308 bolt action. But when I got out the M-4'gery, she was literally afraid to touch it. As if it would make her an evil person. A definite case of some guns might be ok, but others are bad, bad, BAD! A real eye opener for me.

Your post pissed me off in so many ways.
Maybe its just a bad day for me but I better stop before I say something I may regret

It takes a lot of courage to stay and fight rather than just leave. I'll admit reading about some things in California is discouraging, but have to remind myself that most of the state is no different than most other states. Normal people just wanting to live their lives. It is the large population centers in ANY state that tend to drive anti-gun policy. You'll find that in Austin TX, Atlanta GA, as well as Los Angeles.

You have to fight together. California is a huge state with a lot of wilderness and outdoors activities for the sportsman that either is hunting or wants a gun in the wilderness.
Then there is plinking and target shooting. And a large self defense crowd.
It was also the frontier and had some of the strongest gun rights in the union up into the 1960s. And still better self defense laws than most states until the late 1990s and 2000s.
It has more that should have kept it pro gun than many states that are currently pro gun.

If you write off California other battle fronts are in the near future. Texas was almost a blue state last election. Virginia was a surprise as well.
Similar things are happening in many previously solid Red states, and if you look at their county voting maps and trends and population demographics and trends...Things are going to change, and gun rights need to be separated out of party politics before they do. As the Dems have the majority of the anti-gun members.
The Dems are going to win a lot more in the future. And the Republicans are likely to change and shift ideology to stay relevant and regain lost voters.

California has been controlled by the SF elite for awhile. It always amazes me how much control San Francisco has.
The culture of the people currently in power in much of the Bay area dates back to the 60 and 70s into the 80s. The counter culture anti establishment embrace everything foreign crowd has turned out to be more authoritarian than the 'system' they were rebelling against back then.

I love you guys with the "just move" attitude. The best response I've read to that was in another thread...

"I get a kick out of how many allegedly left to preserve their gun rights. If you were doing well, making a good living, I'd venture to say very few would voluntarily leave. Sure, some may have left for that reason, but I'm thinking maybe some just weren't making it, but pointing fingers at (CA, NY, NJ, etc.) is so much easier than admitting failure."

Its a double edge sword... Its sad that CA is leading the nation in pro 2A fund raising but also something to be proud of.

I'm going to quote a Mod's post from another thread that turned to what this one has hints of turning into.

If the only thing you have to say is move out of the state/ city then please keep your comments to yourself. They are not constructive or helpful in any manner. If you have something useful to say or some insight in to how one may make a change then please share. But telling someone to pick up their family and their life and move. That is just simply unhelpful.

We will also not engage in you get what you deserve. I would be willing to bet that the gun owners in NY state have been fighting as hard as they can. So either help, or get out of the conversation.

Leaving now might be painful from a financial standpoint, however, it most likely will be more painful as time passes. This I've told to all of my personal acquaintances living in California - however, as with most people (including gun owners) they lack the foresight and/or ambition to do anything about a bad situation that is getting worse.

The California ruling class has made it eminently clear that gun owners are not wanted here, and they would prefer we just leave. I think I'll stay just to spite 'em. And you, evidently.

LOL...

I've just about finalized my move back to CA from AZ. That's right... back to CA.

And just to p-off Feinstein and Boxer, I'm bringing 3 off-roster hand guns with me.

And my VOTE! And other efforts too.

These colors don't run, hide, give up, and bash my fellow brothers and sisters.
