You need a class A licensce for high capacity weapons and magazines. And FID is for low capacity rifles and class B for low capacity rifles, shot guns and handguns. If you already had a high cap rifle a class B lets you keep it but you need claass A to purchase any high cap rifle, shotgun and hand...
Depnds on your level of experience and tools you have.If you are going to service and build your own rifles its worth investing in the tools if this is your first rifle get something quality or buy the lower and have someone build it then buy the upper you want.www,eaglefirearms.net builds...
The logical Reason would be the FAL was the most widly used that means great support system, parts, mags. From the standpoint of reliability would be equal with the edge going to the FAL for ease of maintenence,From an accuracy point the edge goes to the M14.Feel and ergonomics the FAL..thats why...
My only gripe with the foregrips was the expensive systems needed to attach it until I discovered rails that attach to the handguard so now I can still use my carbine in a traditional target hold or add the fore grip for combat shooting and I did it for under $100,got a good grip"Tango Down...
you can always get the springfield armory bush rifle, kind of a large caliber carbine, legal in CA.The only thing is I dont think the barrel and chamber are chrome lined on that model.
another 1911 guy, thats the only pisols I have besides my python 357 and .45 long.I must admit that with all the modern firearms I have I also own a winchester lever gun in .45 long and a ruger vaqero in the same caliber, its a 7 1/2 model.

Not for nothing but dosent the acu-wedge put force on the take down pin any way because its pushing up on the upper so there is upward strain on the take down pin?Basicaly its pushing the upper away from the lower and the pin is the only thing holding it there,so force in that area is there...
On 20 round mags its easy to put the spring back in the wrong way if you have disasembled it in the past,a common thing soldiers did with the mag in viet nam,you know its assembled right if it compreeses after its loaded to 20 like you could fit 21 if you wanted then its in right.:D
All I can say is ive had one for 10 years now and while my buddies springfield keeps throwing extractors and some other M1A horror stroies ive heard my commie M14 just keeps chugging away.GiI parts have to be fit if you redoe it and you should get it re parkerized and heat treated a little...
as was true 60 years ago is true today 95% of infantry engagements take place at 100 yds and under and in Iraq its even shorter range, shorter than 50 yds in many cases. So my advice go short it will serve you well.
Lower receivers..But Im confident that ban will expire with nothing to take its place.Majority leader Delay has said its not gonna come up even for a vote and the president cant sign what does not reach his desk.
tough to know what parts you had prior when there are no serial#s on parts especialy if you find out how it left the factory and configure it the same way wich is hard to find out on a 50 year old rifle from a company that no longer exists I assume inland is no more.
