There are 2 on Gunbroker. A Norinco Polytech w/ scope asking $1350.00 and a Norinco M14 Sporter asking $1150.00.
Neither have bids. I have to agree with NightLord, a grand or so sounds about right IMO.
I had one in the early 80's that was 100% reliable as long as I used the stock 8 round magazine. I had three factory 8 round mags for it and they all worked flawlessly. Any aftermarket mag tried only produced jams. The Ramline 25 shot mag only worked when loaded with 12 rounds or less. I had two...
I had one when I was a kid and even then I wasn't impressed except for the way it looked. The magazine was detachable and held extra bb's. To load you pulled back the "cocking handle" and dropped BB's down a small hole on the top of the handguard and then pushed the cocking handle forward which...
For a rifle, the Daisy Avanti 753S is a single stroke pneumatic. Nice and quiet and very accurate. Sells for $250.00 at P/A. Not a powerhouse but plenty for a small pest. Mine averages 470fps with a 7.4gr pellet.
For a pistol, the Cometa Indian is a springer, easy to cock, quiet, and plenty...
As a shooter of powder burners for many years now I too have found myself turning to air guns for easy target practice in the back yard. No loading up the truck with guns, ammo, and gear and driving to the range. Just grab a rifle or pistol, tin of pellets, a few targets and walk out back. There...
I had a Charter Arms AR7 years ago. It ran trouble free as long as I used the factory 8 rd magazines. I put thousands of rounds though it without a single malfunction various using HV ammo.
The aftermarket 15 and 25 rd magazines always jammed unless I loaded 10 rds or less, then they worked...
I have never owned a Derringer but have fired a few. All had a beast of a trigger. The last one I fired was chambered in 357 mag, I don't remember what make it was.
I fired one shot and only one. I held as tight as I could and the barrel latch still came back and ripped a big chunk of skin...
I had the national match version I bought in the 90's and it was a beautiful rifle, shot well, very reliable but heavy and clunky feeling to me. I eventually sold if off for more than I paid.
Replaced it with the STG58 (FAL) which I still have.
I had the same problem with my BCM upper until I bumped the shoulder back a bit further.
The same round would chamber just fine in my Colt Competition HBar.
As you probably already know, gunpowder is hydroscopic, meaning that it will absorb moisture from the air.
Since you had them stored in a cool dry place and covered with aluminum foil (covered being the important part) I would say they are okay to load.
I did something similar with 5.56...
I agree with 200apples. I enjoyed the read but since I don't hunt and have no use for heavy loads and recoil I'll stick with my cast 255FP over 8.5 of Unique.
I second what Crazy said.
Unless you're running suppressed I don't understand the point of the 300BO.
I think the 6.8 SPC would be a much better choice for hunting. Of course this is only my opinion but I'm sticking to it. :)
DaisyCutter, very nice.
I have the Austrian STG58 built on an Entreprise receiver. Pic was taken with the Trilux scope and mount. I didn't care for it at all so I removed it and went back to open sights.
Had a few feeding problems with mags from an unknown maker. Bought some Steyr mags and...
The STG is Austria's version of the FN FAL. Mine came with a bipod that folds up against the handguard but I didn't care for it and took it off.
It also has the full auto switch but is disconnected of course.
I bought a Trilux scope for mine a while back but didn't like it much. The scope...
