I bought Ruger and S&W before the last election. My broker called me Thursday asking me why I thought they were going to be a good investment even though he felt otherwise.
I'm up over 5x on Ruger and 2x on Smith.
He didn't know about my gun obsession. He now understands.
I installed a safe in the middle of a customers garage floor. They spent half the year in Florida and would park the car over it when then the left and you would never know it was there. Even if you did, you would still need to get the car off it to attempt to break in.

"If it were a metal door and frame (fire door), I really don't see that getting kicked in very easily, but it only takes a few seconds to pull the hinge pins out (as far as I know)"
You can buy hinges that have non removable pins. It's a option on most decent hinges.

I waited two months for my LGS to get me one. Finally gave up and ordered it from Buds and had it in three days. I like to buy local, but he was o.k. with it and I paid him $50.00 to do the transfer which is more than twice his normal fee.
I bought a set of six halogen undercounter pucks light with a dimmer from Lowes. A quick and easy install and lights the entire safe interior. The set was $49.00.
Try this guy. He has weird hours since he is a Yonkers cop, but is great to deal with. He opens after work and is there until 11:00 usually.

The only issues I can see are humidity and the ease of have it moved. The humidity can easily be controlled by using a golden rod. Having it in a garage makes it easy to load into a vehicle and be stolen as well as having easy access to tools which can be used to break in.
I would also make...
I bought a set of 6 halogen under counter lights from Lowes. They came with a 3 brightness touch dimmer. It made a simple install and is nice and bright.
I think he means that you should put the bolts in and tighten them enough to spread the anchor a bit before you put the safe back in place. This way you can make sure they won't spin and force you to move the safe again. You know it will be the last anchor that spins if you don't.
I saw an old post from a guy that made one set in aluminum on the Ruger site a year ago. I've been looking and have never been able to find them again. I also want a set.
