I have a Mech tech in .460 rowland ( power of a .44 mag) and can shoot .45 acp .45 auto rim .45 super and .460 rowland using my 1911 Kimber 13+1 mag.
never a problem fires all ammo my anser to a semi-auto .44 mag rifle
Don't stop now if you have some extra cash left laying around you can have Clark Customs Guns convert an extra cylinder for .460 Rowland ,then you can fire .460 Rowland .45 acp .45 auto rim .45 Super ..:)
The S+W 625 JM .45 acp 6 rounds.
You can fast load with moon clips or use .45 auto rim , mild recoil with the 43 oz gun and quick follow up shots.
Buy an extra .45 acp cylinder and have it converted to .460 Rowland a good hunting round (close to .44 mag power) without the harsh recoil

Here what I did with the S&W 625 had an extra cylinder converted to .460 Rowlan and can also fire .45 acp .45 Super .45 auto rim .Recoil not much and follow up one hand shooting easy.I carry in a cross chest hostler so weight isn't a problem at all.
I now have the .460 Rowand kit on my Kimber tle 1911. It is a little harder to rack the slide with the 24 spring but just a little.
Recoil a little more then acp rounds and hardly any muzzel flip .Have only shot 20 rds of .460 Rowland in the Kimber and all were smooth and easy to follow up...

This is the .460 Rowland ammo ...Not the S+W 460 round .The power of a .44 mag with mild recoil , good control for fast DBL action shooting with one hand.
No ports or comp needed for the S+W 625 acp only the cylinder converted.
460xvr a bear to shoot?
Another option is the S+W 625 acp and have the cylinder converted to .460 Rowland .44 mag power without the harsh recoil easy to shoot with one hand.
The .460 conversion will fire .45acp,,45 auto rim ,.45 Super....For black bear ( one tryed to enter my home early morning ) and taking the dog...

Sold my Mech Tech .45 acp unit to buy a .460 Rowland unit .I can co-witness iron sights thru the Millett red dot ( no batteries - no problems ) it will be my bump in the night semi- auto rifle.
I have a 30-30 Marlin and was reading a post were a 336 Marlin was rechambered to shoot .308 but the shooter would only load 2 rounds in .308 Win .1 in the tube, 1 in the barrel for safety.
