Can you simply just load the rounds into the cylinder of revolvers machined for full moon clips without using the clips?
that said however, there are some other revolvers... those for rimless cartridges (9, 40, 45...etc) that can be loaded without the moons but require the spent shells to be pushed out one by one from the muzzle end of the cylinder. kind of a pain.

that and with the Smith and Wesson revolvers firing rimless cartridges these days (625 for instance) the unmooned cartridges will no longer headspace reliably on the mouth of the case so you may not even be able to shoot them without the moonies.
